The first caller is the reason why I said no to marriage in my 20s. Why men in their 20s were asking me to marry them is beyond me. I told them " go get a life. I'm making one for myself. I don't want any distractions to miss direct me". I see them now and I'm glad I said no back then. Life hasn't been good to them . They didn't build before they married and their health is failing too. Twenty year olds please delay marriage until you have set yourself on solid ground. Your future self will thank you. You will live in contentment when your money, career and house is in order.

Yes. I agree completely. You can get divorced at any age. However, you’re still finding out yourself in your 20s. 30s in my opinion is the best time to start a family and be married. At that time, most people are financially and emotionally ready.
@Nicc11116 ай бұрын
I disagree actually. I did what you said and now I’m 48 single and no children. I kept pushing it off for my career (I’m a woman) and now it’s too late. You’ll never love as purely and deeply as you do in your first love and for every other partner you have your chances of divorce sky rocket. So call me old fashioned but I say marry your first love if he is good and kind and whether you become millionaires or not you’ll live a happy and blessed life surrounded by kids who will be there in your old age. If I could go back now I’d do just that. No shaking up. No giving the milk away for free. No running around enjoying myself at the expense of a family and future.
@AnnHoyt-h4u6 ай бұрын
I disagree. I met my husband a week after I turned 21. He proposed to me 4 months later and we got married 9 months after that. This year we celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. I was still in college when we got married and he was working full-time. I would never delay being with the person I love for a job or financial setup. It’s the same for those people who say don’t have kids until you can afford them - then you’ll never have kids. If you truly love that person, and they love you, and you are both committed to each other, you figure it out.

Yes, term gets more expensive. If you stay out of debt, you don't need term insurance anymore because you're self insured because you lived right, saved 15% and invested wisely. Dave has a lot of rants about term life insurance versus whole life. He states that whole life is the scam and that term is helpful.

30 dollars a hour equals 50 thousand a year.

After taxes, perhaps. $30 an hour x 40 hours= 1200 a week. There are 4.3 weeks in a month= $5160 per month. Times 12= $61,920 if my napkin math is correct.

Also about 1st caller's situation. Where was the wife's money to pay on either of these cars? Did she just sit on her @$$ and let the military guy support her? After all she took one of the vehicles so she should be paying off that debt and that debt should be expunged from his record since she chose to take it over Euphemia Nazis wanted equality, have at it but it also comes with responsibility
