Wow, how unprofessional of of Dr on the first caller. Why was he shaming him and telling him he's lying etc. just because he's not come across this type of behaviour before? Very unprofessional. A bit of googling would tell you this is a fairly big problem, and yes he left that out but it's often pretty females gaming not always but they often make the big money. Not saying he didn't do a terrible thing but for a professional Dr this was really rude.
@queensprinkles4348
@queensprinkles4348 3 ай бұрын
Yep! Calling him dude and bro was so demeaning. Dr. D likes to display his dominance over other men. Shaming the guy near the end who wanted to get out of debt, but his wife was hesitant, was also so cringe. If the genders had been reversed, he would have totally laid into the husband and called him a child. Dr. D loves to call men "child". Maybe he should look in a mirror.

90% of the calls they take are children aged 25-85 needing to learn how to think like an adult. Grown ups don't involve themselves in gaming or other addictive behaviors, so it can be difficult to relate. They don't have time to google things while they're taking a call. If not relating to this guy makes him unprofessional, then I'm guilty as well. Stop escaping life and live in the real world. If anything, he wasn't rude enough.

I did join a church group but it was more acquaintances. I think when you get over 50, most people have friends or like having their own time alone. A coworker once said, there's that nice loose friendship of a book club but then someone says, "Do you want to see this movie" and it's gets uncomfortable" I think it's because it's hard to make friends and share so many decades with new people. Someone else might jump on that invitation but what if outside of the group, you don't like the person? I guess for some easy friendships are just harder than when in twenties.

There is more than gaming on there, there is girls in hot tubs that you can gift money to, there is people cooking live, people crafting, … etc. not just gaming. I’m confident, that you😢 can quickly spend thousands on there. Clearly he was looking for some sort of validation through it. Jade and John are demonstrating they have NO IDEA about high-value collections. It's all about rarity and condition. Ronnie, you don't call in to a radio show to get advice on valuable collections - this is an area that is NOT their expertise. You need advice from real experts. You have to decide if you want to sell through a bona fide auction house who will take about 40% of the sale or sell them one by one. This is NOT about John's story with older folks and their "stuff" around the house and this is not just about "things" that Jade is talking about. Your collections are in a totally different camp. You also have to take into consideration the tax ramifications of selling high value collections. My husband has been a serious coin collector for over 30 years and just sold a large part of his collection. You can easily get scammed, so be very careful.

@@flashthecorgi2053 I thought I had to respond to this one because it is an area where someone can make errors that are very expensive and it is an area of expertise for my husband. I hesitated to make a comment because I knew you would be stalking my name - but I felt like I had to warn him to be very careful. Actually, I wasn't listening to the show. My friend was listening and texted me to listen to the final call because she knows about my husband's interest in rare collectible coins and she asked me to comment before Ronnie made a serious mistake. I had to weigh that against knowing you had my name on speed dial and would be there with yet another snarky comment. And, yes, I did hear he doesn't particularly want to sell. However, he should sell when he can because these kinds of collections left to heirs who are not interested and know nothing about them can result in serious financial loss because there are so many charlatans out there.

The advice given to the couple with the elderly parents seem to be outside of what Dave would say. I would think you would tell them to keep the 18,000 don't worry about taking care of the parents while they are alive in whatever care they need and the credit card and trailer payment would be on the back burner. Once they pass what they own stands for what they owe and say oh very little most of that debt will just disappear

Depression glass isn't worth as much as it was a bit ago. It was produced very cheaply and was given away as a bonus nearly a hundred years ago, similar to like a toy in a cereal box, or a prize at a fair (yes there's "Carnival Glass" as well). Some people love it, but it's really just stuff. I started having anxiety because this guy has all of this stuff and his kids don't want to deal with it when he's gone. Does he really want to give his kids the impression that the stuff is more important than they are? If something happens to him, they will be so angry at him for leaving them with the mess of his stuff. Yeah, it took an expert 15 months to get rid of my dad's stuff, and none of that was retail. It's only worth what people will pay. And yes, we were angry.

The woman struggling at step 7, this is legit. I have a friend that had to agree with her husband to each set aside $100 a month from their 6 figure paycheques just to make sure they actually spend money.

So about the first military guy- Y’all just made him feel worse about his situation , and then ran out of time because you kept interrupting him, without giving him the direction he needed and just sent him a book ?? He could’ve bought that book all by himself .. y’all better call him back and do better . C’mon now?

The guy working 60 hours a week has no time to get an hvac certificate or any other education. Working 60 hours a week indefinitely isn’t a solution or a healthy lifestyle. Mom needs a night job or they need to explore public assistance.

Unfortunately the truth this caller 36:52 is his wife can’t be a stay at home wife. 50% of her new Job she needs to get, will go to daycare but at least the other 50% will go to debt and in two years or less with his income also you will be debt free. & I know it can be don’t in less. But I’m positive in two years you Just might have your down payment for a house also. But in No way will you go to school to make 200$ a week extra after 5 years. Equivalent to 60 hrs at 22$. 38$ by 40hrs is 1520$. 22$ by 60hrs is 1320$ the math don’t work my friend. Not for 5 years of school. Simple math. He’s smart I know it. You can make 35$ working & going school somewhere else. I’m 100%. He sounds like a handy man. 40 hrs of work & 20hrs a week for a paid school at less than 2 years or less makes more sense. That’s an option always options available. Keep head up and make the sacrifice now at 20 years old. It’ll pay off! Be persistent positive & focused.

Shredding the cards was monumental. Emotional. Good job. The caller from San Diego making 250k. It just sounds like his wife just needs to budget with him. There is a lot of overspending. I live in San Diego and own, have two little ones and budget pretty well. Sounds like budget and lifestyle creep.

You blew the answer to the letter question of the day. The Lord has provided you with the funds to pay your bills and donate to tithe. You are to get a good steward of the funds as THE HUSBAND AND FATHER OF THE HOUSE. Her husband is a convenient Christian. When it's convenient for him but NOT BIBLICAL

I have only had life insurance through work at 2 jobs. At my last job it was 1.5x my salary and my current employer its only 1x my salary. At this stage in our life, we are on steps 4, 5, and 6. The life insurance from my work would maybe cover about half our mortgage. I'm so glad we have separate policies because if anything happens we would be more than fine. It seems like overkill but we each have about a $1M policy. This would cover mortgage, loss in income and future investment contributions, raising kids, kids college, and everything else. I don't think people think past their death and those left behind.

The caller with the dying father in law and the camper most definitely should let it be repossessed. The surviving wife will need that 18K. Why give it to the camper company and get nothing in return? 🤷🏽‍♀️

The caller with the man dying and his wife not on RV. I don't get why she would be responsible for debt and use money in savings because she will need it for surviving. I don't think it was good advice for the caller.
