Bert Konterman had the last laugh on Celtic after scoring the goal that sent Rangers into the League Cup Final. Konterman was cheered onto the park before the game by the Celtic fans but he was the hero of the Rangers fans after scoring one of the best goals ever seen at Hampden. Peter Lovenkrands scored right on half-time after a poorly worked free-kick while Bobo Balde equalised fifteen minutes before the end of the game. There was still time for Shota Arveladze to miss a penalty before the match entered extra-time where Konterman struck the winning goal.
