Often, depression does not respond to initial treatment approaches, thereby gaining the term "treatment-resistant." This lecture discusses, contrary to the semantic meaning of "therapy resistance," there is a wide range of other effective treatment options to depression. These include medicinal, psychotherapeutic, and various somatic strategies, among which ketamine is taking a new meaning and importance.
This lecture is given by two professionals in the field: Prof. Dr. Uwe Herwig, Medical Director at the Center for Psychiatry Reichenau, academic hospital of the University of Konstanz, Germany and Dr. med. Sebastian Gaus, specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy currently engaged as a study therapist in a randomized-controlled trial investigating psilocybin for treatment-resistant depression in Germany.
