I thought you would touch on the emotional part. When their powers surfaced for the first time they were all in a heightened emotional state. And Tazer was the first one to be able to actually control his power because he is always angry because he has that mother wound. Also, it seemed to me like he didn’t care much about living. Also, I don’t really think they were trying to use their powers “for good” or be superheroes. They all had their own mostly familial motives which isn’t a bad thing, but idk if that really makes you a superhero. Like they weren’t fighting crime or trying to save the world or anything. 🤣

Great points! I think we are so used to seeing "superheroes" fight crime and save the whole world. But they all were doing something because of their loved ones. So they were trying to do good and save ppl in "their own individual worlds." But I think that will expand to help more ppl in Season 2. I thought that was dope because they are all just normal ppl. I saw it as a different twist on what we see with Marvel and other superpower movies. They are superheroes in my eyes lol

Great review, just an FYI, Micheal has been with Dionne since Year 9, not 9 years. That's how we identify our school years in the UK, year 9 means they were like 13/14 when they got together.
@KiaundraJackson4 ай бұрын
Oooohhhh okay! That makes alot of sense. Thank you for clarifying. There were many things that were said & done in the show that we do different here in the US vs the UK

@KiaundraJackson Yes, it's one of the things I've actually enjoyed most. Hearing some of the differences of our cultures from an American perspective. Thanks for sharing your view.

@@KiaundraJackson please don't reel yourself back! There are those of us out here that appreciate ancestral spirituality and what the haters refer to as "woo woo." You shouldn't have to dim your light for others to shine theirs when there is plenty of space for us all to shine bright. I enjoyed the spiritual aspects of your analysis and would've liked to hear more.

7:28 There has been gangs in London since the 17th century and there are hoods in every single country and city in the globe

Yes, I am aware of that. Because of the specific colors used (red and blue), it reminded me of blood & crip gangs that originated in Los Angeles

@@KiaundraJackson They done that for American veiwers so they could differentiate the differewnt sets of gangs. Gangs in the U.K dont wear any "colours"

It feels like their powers is a metaphor for the potential and talent associated with black people, and how it is manipulated or used for good or otherwise. Kind of like the natural resources that exist in Africa but are exploited and so on.

I don’t see that Micheal was self serving the whole show his only motivation was saving his gf
@KiaundraJackson4 ай бұрын
Yep! He wanted to save his gf and that was all he cared about. But now that she's "dead," I think he will try to help others. We won't see that til Season 2.
