You are the first reaction video i saw that, not only put attention to those absolutely brilliant lyrics, but also nailed the interpretation. Music is kinda like a superpower in a way, as an artist, you get the opportunity to write a message to the world! Tailor Swift choses to tell the world about miserable relationships from 20 ex-boyfriends while system of a down choses to tell you that you should be aware of how others influence your state mind in a negative way, so you can start protecting yourself. There is definately a difference in value here.
@dinkin_flicka146 ай бұрын
How do you calculate value? I'm pretty sure there are lots of broken hearted people who can relate to her songs and feel like, "hey i know it's shitty but I'm not alone." it's therapeutic and that's why so many of us love music. Her style may not be your style, but we don't have to put a person down to celebrate another.
@justaguyfromeurope5 ай бұрын
@@dinkin_flicka14 I feel you're just being pedantic for the sake of being pedantic. As a comparison: yes, fast food is - technically - food and most people that choose to consume it do so because it's cheap and convenient, but do we all collectively need to point out the difference between fast food and a home cooked / proper restaurant meal with quality ingredients or the difference in the effects on your body? Stop being the way you are. Please. (Also, there are plenty of "healthy" musical options for broken hearts, instead of the fast food music that people like the aforementioned Taylor Swift put out)

@@justaguyfromeurope Take it from an old guy who has listened to and played metal his whole life, Taylor Swift is a MASTER songwriter. Like Beatles level songwriter. I don't want to listen to her music (for that matter, I don't want to listen to the Beatles either), but she is insanely talented at writing songs. There are tons of pop stars who would have fit your insult, but you picked one so wrong that it's clear you don't know what you're talking about.

I was 11 when this song came out and honestly it's still probably my favourite SOAD song. Their early videos are pretty wild though haha, but since the beginning their videos have also always had often profound imagery and symbolism that reinforces the meanings behind the lyrics... and I think you nailed the analysis on this one!

@@micah4973 Well I'm not blaming or shaming anyone but some of the interpretations people come up with confuse me. That being said, I am aware that music is an art form and like all art it is subject to the interpretation of the person experiencing it, but there can in fact be wrong answers depending on the message intended.

It often helps to react to either the album version or the live version of a song as very rarely does the music video have very little to do with the song itself as it's often the artistic view of the director. More good SOAD songs: Deer Dance, Needles, I-E-A-I-A-I-O, Mezmerise

@heartsupport Love the vid. Question, if you won't mind clarifying for my mind... When I listen to this song like many others, I'm often suddenly brought to let's say "emotional duress" when I see other people feel something "real/serious" or go through something emotional if that makes sense. Almost a dire need to embrace or care for them, to the point of tears then I need to push that aside. It's too heavy. This normal...?
