The beauty of System of a Down as a band is the ability to use comical riff sounds or singing approach to address serious topics that makes you question your point of view on those matters when you hear their lyrics.

System was always pushing the limits, notably the part about the media, which is still true to this very day. As Jim Morrison once said, "Whoever controls the media, controls the mind". It's amazing how easily people can still be influenced, even with the internet and the plethora of research one can do to form their own opinion.

This band taught a whole generation to not feel strange for thinking that not everything shown by the media to be the absolute truth. I am not a consipracy nut, but it is a good lesson to know that everything you are being told by your favourite news spaces is colored. And to be aware of entering an echo chamber when you do. Everyone is weak to this, including myself. But I do take the time, sometimes, to question if what I am reading is colored. To get an objective report of what is happening at any given moment these days is so hard to get. It is almost impossible for any person today to not be in an echo chamber. You can only reach that clarity by actually doing manual effort to break out of that.

As for your take of this song, it’s one of the better interpretations I’ve heard. Serj Tankian goes pretty deep when it comes to his lyrics. I feel like the hole videoclip is a psychological thriller . The first scene with the tv host is mind blowing. The first seconds make you feel like a verry typical old school news and then boom its like a badtrip psychosis. The psychological dread just hit you with a brick, jesus slap you in the face, you rethink your whole live in just 3 seconds. The whole acting , cinematography, just wow. Verry mindful. Not demure.love it.

day 1 of recomending Viagra Boys - Just Like You. ofc i know they are pretty goofy band and all but their songs are heavily focused on moving against society and also at the same time trying to fit in. these songs helped me so much in the past years to understand how important is to sometimes just stand on your own and accept yourself as you are even if you are maybe a "little out". now they are my all time favourite band. i might say that 20% of my personality now is from them :d just dont let the name of the band fool you
