a lot of people say that these types of rappers are "off beat" which that might be the case, but they keep it consistent. This flow of rap is really popular in detroit/flint michigan. Ive listened to this type of stuff for too long so it doesnt sound off rhythm to me but i remember when i first started listening I thought the same thing

I don't understand this need from some folks to want all rappers to follow some formula (being "on beat" for instance). His flow is unique and deliberate. He's mastered his style. It's part of the appeal for me.

What you talk about at a 8:30 I think is one of the main draws to his music. The way he delivers his bars is unrelenting and hypnotic, but also (like you said) keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time.
