12:03 I'll never buy an R/C tank....me? I'd first equip it with .22 or .177 air rifle pellets and if that worked, I'd upgrade to .22 shorts......not because I want to go around shooting anyone but because that's how I roll lol. I designed an airwolfe helo system back in the 80's that dropped actual incendiary bombs and fired rockets lol... I worked in an architectural dept in a large corporation and one of the bosses saw me working on it on my drafting board.....we didn't have all the micro electronics but a couple of the engineers got wind of it and came over to lend me their expertise lol. That project actually landed me a job in another dept when the manager got wind of it. It was designing store fixtures. After they offered me the position about 2 weeks in we were on a scouting mission and he told me "you know why you got this job? that helicopter you were drawing up. If you can design something like that, you can easily handle anything we throw at you".

Ah yes, My first was the Blackfoot 2WD truck. Then the 4WD Tamiya Hot Shot. Then I added all metal bearings of course. I actually raced these at the local track. I won many a blue ribbon and other stuff, such as new modded motors. Many years later, after I retired from the US Army, in January 1994, I started collecting the 18 Wheelers. First was the Knight Hauler and the Maersk box trailer. I also got the MFC-01 (American) light and sound kit, Motorized landing legs, trailer light kit. All metal bearing set. Later I added the side marker lights. The side markers were the only add-on lights I could find. My next one was the Scania R620, added MFC-03 (European) lights and sound kit, Flatbed Trailer with motorized landing legs and lights. All metal bearings set. I then started adding the extras, like all of the available lights to the Scania R620. Also, flashing amber lights I mounted on top. I also upgraded the cab locking mechanism with the "Cab Shell Buckle Cab Lock Catch" The Scania has been the most expensive of all upgrades. Hell, some of these lights were quite expensive. Next was the Freightliner Cascadia Evolution, added the MFC-01 (American) lights and sound kit. The gas Tanker trailer (Gallant Eagle) w/motorized landing legs and light kit. All metal bearing set. I also added interior lighting along with a back wall in the cab. Just for shits and giggles, I added a "STAR WARS Galaxy of Adventures First Order Driver". lol Too bad there isn't any addable lights for it that I could find. I then added the Carson, "Goldhofer" low loader trailer to haul my Huina excavator around. I painted the trailer to match the truck. Looks awesome! Quite expensive though. Yes, this ended up being extremely expensive. But, with my military retirement, my job and my wife's job, I could afford it. This was the only way I could afford such an endeavor. lol My grandson will be grateful. lol

Oh man! I love Tamiyas! I've got loads but wow! This shop is awesome! So you mention the 6x6 King Yellow.... I think instead you should go for the Volvo A60 dump truck instead. See it at 5:12 - Its the same G6-01 chassis as the KY but its a way better model it looks so much cooler & more realistic. You'll be amazed by that full gear driven drive system inside the chassis. Its a thing to behold! If you do go for it, upgrade it with a full bearing set, 6x CVA oil dampers, put some thick oil/grease in all 3 diffs. Aim to make it 4 wheel steering then pop a crawler motor in & head to the woods for some scale realism & watch it climb 45° muddy slopes. Have fun!

Wow that store was amazing. Shame they didn't have the Konghead. I noticed that they had the Volvo A60H Hauler 6x6 which is almost the same and has the advantage that you don't need to paint it. I built one recently and it's very cool. One little tip about your GoPro is that you can get rid of the flicker from mains powered lights by matching the frame rate to the hz of the mains power of the country you are in. I think that Hong Kong is 50hz like the UK but I could be wrong. There is an anti flicker setting in the general settings on the camera and you can choose 50hz or 60hz 🙂

Joe & Amber, RC Kiwis: If you want cool Tamiya buggies you have to have the ones from 1980-ies or the re-issues. The Hornet, The Frog, The (Nova) Fox, The Big Wig, The Super Shot or Super Hot Shot, The Wild One.. and so on.... They have style and are cult. In the 1980s one spent USD 500,- to 600,- average for 1 buggy, RC, battery and charger. It was quite expensive.

You can't go wrong with a classic re-release kit from Tamiya. The hornet is probably the most iconic imo but the Lunchbox for me is the most fun hands down as some of these early kits don't handle with particular accuracy the lunch box makes up for it with unpredictable fun, really great for both big kids and little kids on the beach or lawn. I would'nt go for the new avante but would definitely look at the 2011 re-release version tamiya# 58489 for a buggy 🤙. I especially love the japanese culture for these kits with custom paint jobs, hop-ups and everything. If i was in that shop I'd be all over those sweet rc tank kits!
