Great flight outta the box! 10% expo is hardly noticeable. Feel free to toss 30-40% at it and every plane on all surfaces and rest easy doing so. Less is needed on rudder on most planes but it’s fine to set all the same and adjust as needed.

Agreed. Look at the control curve and 10% is nothing. I like the 30-40% range because that keeps the middle third or so of the control curve very similar to the normally recommended low rate of 70% while still allowing full deflection when wanted or needed.

The turbo timber is a better STOL plane than this, I have 2 because I wrecked my first so much its mostly glue and toothpicks now. I'm not the best pilot but this UMX looks like a blast!

I agree with the previous chap who posted. My son and I have UMX Timber and UMX TT and have squeezed pretty much everything out of them we can. What those excellent planes lack is roll rate and you will certainly not have that issue with the X! Now....the big X was still a really good STOL flyer so If this is true of the smaller X then the X is the only Timber I will ever need but if it's not, then this one is a completely different animal and will be more of a niche model which will be a shame.

Expo helps make the controls smother. It's needed on some planes more than others and that's probably why Nate doesn't use it much because most of his planes fly great with out it. read the manual. Hopefully you have the additional sheet with changes in the CG and where to set the elevator. Mine didn't have those and it flew like crap! I read suggestions on the internet, modified my settings and now it flys awesome!

I just checked out the smart charger and battery combo from y'all's yesterday video, I'm pretty sure but I want to wait until I get home from work to make sure that's the same battery for the AreoScout before I buy it. Negative flaperon is used in sailplanes to permit faster airspeed and better penetration. Moving from thermal to thermal you want to move faster. Also to heading into the wind and you want to cover ground. How it is intended to be used on this platform I’m not sure.

I have to get this one too lol love my arrows pioneer I got it after nate and abby reviewed it as always 😁 but I absolutely love these little planes especially since I don't have the kind of space around me to fly the big planes at the moment I just really wish they had a RTF version with a decent radio that would bind with all other planes 😫 however I am looking into getting the aero scout rtf with the dxs radio so maybe it will fit great with this plane😁 Thanks guys for the incredible content as always.... I have a AeroScout and that's exactly what I'm going to do is use my DXe remote when I get the UMX Timber. I want have flaperons but that's ok don't really need them that bad. The AeroScout is awesome but I like the smaller planes also so I can fly in my back yard. When you buy a plane boat etc pls use the link in the description it helps out the channel. It can! Just a little more challenging to “hover” with it. I think it will likely fall down quicker in a flat spin than the larger Timber X. So much fun! Flies inverted like a champ and those ROLLS!!
