There are more issues than I bargained for on this Abarth 595 Copart catN salvage purchase.

Abarth 596 2016 Grey CatN
My second salvage purchase is a 2016 Abarth 595 with damage to the front near side area.
Copart advertised as run and drive but although it started could not get any response from the accelerator. Also, the car is filthy and moldy inside.
Here I give a workaround and start to look at some of the errors being shown.

Finally got round to catching up with this vid….I thought 16 plates had new style tail/brake lights….watching the next one in a second. Also just got a new salvage car, got mould in it too and used white vinegar…. Hopefully I’ll be posting a vid soon….undecided at the moment

Yes I believe the Fiat 500 changed roughly at the 65reg but it appears the Abarth was after the 16reg - I think. It’s a bit disheartening when you see that much mould but I’m surprised how well the vinegar works. Good luck with your new project!

I had the potentiometer error on a 1.2. Throttle worked but went into limp mode as soon as you pulled away. Changed pedal and throttle body, cleared codes and it just came back. Ended up needing a new engine ECU. The ECU has two power wires that go to the pedal and one had a slightly lower voltage. That’s all it was. Took 2 weeks to find out what the problem was. Luckily you seem to have cured it with a reset.

That amount of mould looks like the car has been sitting around for a while in coparts yard perhaps. Look forward to the next video.

I think 9th November when Copart received it. There were several bottles of water and a pot of takeaway curry in the passenger footwell. I’ll give a thorough valet and I think it will look great when cleaned.

After removing the battery you have to lock and unlock the car with the fob (everything closed) to re-aline the Canbus.....your boot lock should work correctly after, providing you don't have a break in the boot loom or a faulty boot lock.

@@bikenut No problem, it looks to me like it has bent the bottom arm. Incase you didn't know to change them you have to remove the front bumper (which you'll be removing no doubt) for access also they are prone to failure ie worn bushes.
