As a kid, it was of course all about the proton packs and catching ghosts. This was the scene standing between me and the hotel scene. Growing up was appreciating all these scenes more and more. The nuttiness of Bill Murray and all his interactions with Dana, her not putting up with his crap and his feelings for her become more and more sincere as the film goes on. Including the "I respect you" scene later.
