As someone who grinded way too much prophecy for darkest before, I can confirm that the most important thing is consistency. Some other perks like zen moment and headseeker have helped the feel, but nothing competes with surplus imo which is why I've been sad to see it almost removed from a majority of recently released guns.

@@sidezz I think I started more heavily following you when prophecy became farmable for the first time so thanks for the recommendation, love the year one gameplay. Quick tangent tho, I'm curious if you had the same sentiment around smgs back in yr one and if not what changed that opinion? Was it just the addition of new movement/abilities or moreso the change from 4v4?

there are records of me absolutely hating smgs and saying they should've never been a thing back even in season 1 with antiope, but I was willing to coexist until things like shayuras and immortal came along

The easiest weapons shouldn't also be the best weapons. Especially with sbmm. Smgs devalue other weapon types.

its like.. i'm okay if theyre easy to use, but I don't find them fun when theyre this wrecking ball force that's very hard to reply to without extremely disciplined gameplay. in 3v3, they're a lot more manageable (a lot more space to play around, right) but in 6v6 they truly do feel like they have a super difficult barrier to counter especially when you are afforded so much more ground to take

Solo plays only possible b/c of Hawkmoon in Trials. Even then, teamshot meta b/c of less Special Ammo is truly punishing for anyone that used to play aggressive and ballsy. Now, everyone just sits on their own and their teammates' balls for any type of fight now. Couldn't even enjoy playing with my non-PvP friends casually b/c now playing with a stack of any sort means you will face stacks who, for a fact, and hugging each other during the wntire match.

I can't be the only one who felt like SBMM got way worse in the last few weeks right? The start of this season didn't even feel all that bad, then around the March 5th update, 6s became almost unplayable. Every game is against ppl with 4 letter names in clans all about running controller or 'controller' and kd farming in 6s, while my teammates are either new light players, or the ppl who log on once every week to complain to me that i care to much in qp. Calling it comp lobbies is so accurate, except while i have to play against those players, I don't actually have normal comp teammates to make correct plays, so i often end up dying to things that my brain accounts as something any functioning player would do, spoiler alert, they don't.

@@sidezz I meant since the big sandbox change last month. Like, i know the blueberries I get used to hard crutch green ammo, so the change made them worse, notably. But the bigger question, is why ppl on the other team only gets the team of iggy/pulse rifles, where I see 180 hcs on, inspecting the pixels on the wall

I've kinda given up on d2 pvp. I used to enjoy making builds that predicted the meta but mainly using skill to 1v3 in trials with double primary. Now due to all the amounts of overshield, orbs, team camping It's borderline impossible to make major plays against a good team in trials. Im not talking about solo trials because I think that it's too easy and ultimately boring with how it's essentially a one versus one with two teamates who don't really deserve a win for how they play. Another thing i hate is the ttk change, giving players more health just makes it so much more harder to get that kill before they run away or trade cover with a teamate. Ive thought it over a few times and besides using messenger and invis, i dont see any build or setup that a player could use to make 'solo' plays.

Facts lol. Smgs ruin crucible when they are the meta by a landslide. Feels like d1 was better because we didn't have so many gun types. Before the strike team came, ppl had so much special and just no skill weapons. Special gls, bows, smgs. Notice how those are so minimal now and the game is dramatically better.

But autorifle and pulse rifle aren’t “skill weapons” at least smgs require you to stay on target at close range where your target has more movement compared to in the distance where a 1v1 doesn’t require you to aim sometimes everywhere 😂 up down left right sometimes a 180 or against Icarus a 360 degree. Pulse scout auto is aiming in the smallest of areas with no deviation

The days of solo plays are not over, take it From an ascendant 1, imagine my sbmm. I still pick apart 5 or 6 in a single life every other game and normally take out 2 or 3 per life. I’m using heliocentric and conditional 😂 might as well use the most op close range weapons and run at people.

Perhaps smgs are much more of a problem for you on PC. On console its been percision autos and igneous with conditional. I personally feel about conditional like you do with smg. I hope you can find the fun somewhere, man.

its a long story but the short version is they gutted stormcaller and practically put the grenade functionality on striker titan, to be fair me on titan was a long time coming anyway (due to meta shifts and what the needs of my teammates)

Ain’t no way you saying hc is ez, rescind that statement now. If it was so ez then where are my hc players in my ascendant lobbies? I use rose inquisitor on Icarus warlock but lately got tired of apes, so rn I’m using helio and conditional. Plus all you see is pulse scout and auto with shotty with the odd sidearm player. Plus hc requires Peek shots and movement 😂 and yet everyone is standing in one spot using pulse and scout or being an auto turret for whatever lane needs it 🤦🏼‍♂️. 😂 most pulse players sit on a corner. Where’s the fun in that, that is boring af. At least smg players have to track you while you Icarus or dive or slide in different directions and requires Better tracking then aiming at someone cross map and even them jumping to escape requires very little effort on the pulse or scout players part to stay on target 💀
