You missed a very important point about GSP that makes him even bigger... this guy never ducked anyone from 2003 to 2013. The UFC always put him in front of monsters in his prime and GSP took every single challenge without hesitation. No excuses, just beating masters in different disciplines one after another (Hughes, BJ Penn, Koshcheck, Condit, Diaz, Fitch...), some of them even more than once!!! For me, he is the true GOAT of MMA.

He was great, but not the GOAT. GSP was the GOAT back around 2009 after finishing Penn. Utter domination and mostly finishes. But for the next 10 years after that, from the Penn fight to his retirement announcement, he fought only 8 times! All decision wins! eThen he finally gets a finish in his last fight with Bisping. Then he vacates??? Great that he retired young, but ya can't go that long with nothing but decison wins fighting one time per year or less, and still be considered the GOAT.

The G.O.A.T of MMA Georges St Pierre retires with a record of 26-2😢😢 The guy who got me interested in MMA. If you don't know who he is he's basically the Lionel Messi/Roger Federer/ Michael Jordan of MMA. GSP wasn't only the greatest fighter of all time he was humble in victory or defeat, a man who avenged both losses, hasn't lost since 2007, most rounds won in UFC history, most takedowns in UFC history, 9 title defences, second most wins in UFC history, tore his ACL in 2011 came back in 2012 to unify the Welterweight title and left the sport in 2013-2017 due to personal reasons came back in 2017 to win the Middleweight title unheard of in sports. A man who would out strike strikers Dan hardy, Thiago alves,Nick Diaz and Michael Bisping with his signature precise jab, Superman punch, spinning back kick and leg kick. A man who would out wrestle NCAA national wrestling champions which is impressive considering GSP never started training in wrestling until he started MMA when he was 20. He outwrestled guys like Matt Hughes,Josh Koscheck, Jake Shields,Sean Sherk, Johnny Hendricks, Frank Trigg and Jon Fitch. Out grappled BJJ black belts Nick Diaz,Matt Serra, Jason Miller, BJ Penn,Karo Parisian and Jake Shields. There will never be a more well rounded fighter in MMA Great Boxing Good kickboxing Excellent Wrestling Great BJJ Excellent Cardo Good Chin Goodbye GSP hope you have a happy retirement im a bit disappointed that we'll never see you give Khabib his first loss but UFC want to protect him.

No it is not, I am truly sad about GSP leaving and he was one of my favourites since forever, however Tony is the most ignored guy in the UFC and skipping him at this point would be a crime. Does not matter, Dana made it very clear that he won't let pick GSP title fights in different divisions because he'd obviously vacate it right away. Funny how DC is allowed to be inactive just to wait for Brock tho. However, there are obvious super fights to make: Jon vs DC, GSP vs Woodley - that's not only two amazing title fights, those would be legit GOAT status fiights. Except for Tyron, he'd still be the WW goat and top3 p4p if he wins. Let's face it, GSP and DC both duck the hardest but most rewarding fiight. They even admitt it, it is for legacy at this point and they calculate and look for favourable last fights. Still big respect and Osu to GSP, true martial artist and a real champ.

The P4P list is a fictional tale in combat sports and the “All-Time” debate is a never ending story, HOWEVER what is factual is there is elite group of individuals in every sport, industry, or any form of art that are or was the best of their time/era. With that being said I’m not a huge GSP fan, but this man is, was, and always will be the human embodiment of martial arts. My personal “MMA GOAT” list: Anderson Silva, GSP, Jon Jones, Fedor, and DC.

4-7-1. That is the welterweight record of Georges St. Pierre's last five opponents after they have fought him. Over his entire current title run, the record is 15-15-2, with five of those wins coming from a single fighter (Jon Fitch).
