Great series. Just what I needed to start my library. The comment about being a lifelong student is so true. As my flight examiner handed my freshly earned airman certificate to me he said this is just the beginning of your journey to becoming a pilot. If you don't learn something to further your skills on every flight, put this certificate in a frame on the wall and find something that lights your fire. My fire was lit and his words flew with me throughout my 40+ year career.

I love the NSBT!!! My absolute faves! Identity and Idolatry, Contagious Holiness and Who Shall Ascend... are my faves (so far). Got the whole series a few years ago on Logos for like $5 each.

This series was fantastic! I've seen some of the books you mentioned before on Accordance, but it wasn't until I saw you flip through the hard copies that I saw their value (such as the Zondervan Illustrated Backgrounds Commentary). I wonder if there are more Bible nerds like me who would like to see you review the differences between NICOT, WBC, PNTC, AYBC, etc... commentaries. I think we all eventually have a giant jigsaw puzzle that bible theology forms a picture, hopefully it looks like Jesus when we are done. Yet I find myself trying to force a piece where it doesn't belong but my certainty can make me 'push the piece' in like we did when we were kids!! Then when we think we are closer to the end of the puzzle, we get more sure and a bit more stubborn!

Two things I did to make more time is I deleted social media off my phone [embarrassing how much time I spent doom scrolling] and I began listening to audiobooks while doing things that don't require my full attention dishes, laundry, etc.

When I was in school I byhearted (a+b)^2 formula. But did not get it perfectly until I learned how one can come to a^2+b^2+2ab My situation was the same when i was believing that Jesus fulfilled the Old testament. I did not know how He fulfilled it. But lately, I have been exploring that area. So my top suggestions would be "The messiah in the old testament" written by walter Kaiser "The Moody's handbook of messianic prophesies" edited by Michael Rydelnik "The messianic hope" by Michael Rydelnik.

Any good books on showing the difference between Romes position on justification and the Protestants position on justification ,I’m dialoging with a catholic who’s making the claim that at the council of Trent Rome did not condemn the Protestant view on justification

That's more of a historic theology issue, so I haven't spent a lot of time looking at it, I must admit. But a good theological dictionary might be a helpful place to start.

@@DiscipleDojo Ignatius of Antioch, who was taught by John the Apostle, seemed to think so, as he used the phrase “Catholic Church” word for word like that in his epistle to the Smryneans, written around 110AD. “Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude [of the people] also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church”
