I was a chipndale on European tours and in Vegas. And in Hollywood..God saved me in 2014 and about a year after I started listening to brother Paul and reading and buying alot of these exact books what a God we serve 😮

Oh the things I could write about Leonard Ravenhill. I started to write a book about him when I was in my book writing phase but after spending time with my dear brother, Dr. Bob Roberts of Tyler Texas, to whom Ravenhill said was his (best friend), Bob said he didn't feel worthy to be mentioned. Which in turn made me realize, how dare I consider telling Ravenhill's story. Then a few years later someone wrote a book that did Leonard no damage. And I think Paul recommended it so it must have been worth reading.

Be very careful friend, don't be fooled into Lordship Salvation. Paul Washer, John McArthur, John Piper, Steve Lawson, RC Sproul, and many others are false teachers, heretics preaching a false gospel. This is very serious. Lordship Salvation is nothing new. It has been around since the Apostle Paul, which Paul addressed in the book of Galatians. Read the inspired Word of God.... ‭Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? Galatians‬ ‭3:2‭-‬3‬ ‭ Paul is calling out Lordship Salvation, a damning heresy that was popular back then and is still popular today. It is a serious error that is taught by false teachers like John McArthur and John Piper and many other false teachers; it is largely accepted uncritically, and has infected churches everywhere.I'm sure you've heard of this manifestation of Lordship Salvation before.... ....We are justified by faith alone, but not by a faith that is alone.... Let's unpack this theological statement; I will demonstrate the damning heresy imbedded in it. I will refer to Galatians 2:2-3 in parentheses, translating the statement above according the inspired Word of God.... 1. ‭"We are justified by faith alone.... (recieved the Spirit by hearing with faith), 2. ...but not by a faith that is alone ("Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?) Galatians‬ ‭3:2‭-‬3‬ ‭ Paul is basically correcting the Galatians who became Christians by faith in Jesus Christ, but fell into serious error after being taught by false teachers that they must finish their salvation by works; a hybrid of faith in Jesus Christ melded together with obedience to the Law. Sound familiar? This damning heresy is still around today, popularized by the notion that there must be works in the life of a professing Christian. They must persevere, they must be obedient, they must submit to the Lordship of Christ, they must do more and try harder, and if these works are not present in the life of a professing Christian then they are not a Christian. The end result of this is that you become a Pharisee, and your entire focus is on you and your works and not the finished work of Jesus Christ. Under Lordship Salvation YOU become worried that YOU are not doing enough works to prove YOUR justification, which leads to YOUR despair. Therefore, YOU must do more and try harder, YOU must be obedient to God's Laws, and YOU must persevere to the end. And when YOU finally succeed, then YOU become proud of YOUR efforts, that Is, until YOU begin to worry again that YOU are not doing enough works to prove YOUR justification, so again, YOU must do more and try harder.....and it goes on and on in an endless cycle of pride and despair. Do you see how Lordship Salvation is bondage to the Law of God and not freedom from the Law by faith in Jesus Christ? Again, in Galatians the Apostle Paul reminds us that we who have faith in Jesus Christ are no longer under the curse of the Law. Please read..... ‭Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us-for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”-so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith. Galatians‬ ‭3:13‭-‬14‬ The Jewish people in Jesus's day were broken and laboring under the Pharisees and their strict demands to follow all of their man made rules. Jesus didn't make such demands, he only required faith in Him, and the same Truth still applies today with all of the false religions demanding repentance from sins and obedience to the Law for one's justification.... ‭ Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew‬ ‭11:28‭-‬30‬ ‭ We are either justified by faith or justified by works, and the two can not be mixed. The Apostle Paul in Galatians made this abundantly clear. Its all or nothing. The Bible teaches over and over that we are justified/saved by faith alone in Jesus Christ apart from the works of the law. Please read God's Word. It is clear as day.... And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, Romans 4:5 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8‭-‬9 I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose. Galatians 2:21 For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. Romans 3:28 Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.” Galatians 3:11 And be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith- Philippians 3:9 Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. Galatians 2:16 For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. Romans 3:20

Lordship Salvation contradicts the clear teachings in the Scriptures that we are justified by faith in Jesus Christ apart from the works of the law. Please, beware of false prophets who preach salvation by works, because they are everywhere. John McArthur, Paul Washer here, and many other celebrity teachers are wolves in sheeps clothing teaching the false gospel of Lordship Salvation. “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. Matthew 7:15 The Apostle Paul himself declared those who preach another gospel other than what he recieve to be accursed. It is clear that Lordship Salvation is another another gospel. I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel- not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:6‭-‬9 Don't take my word for it. Compare their teachings against God's Word, test the spirits to see whether they are from God Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1 John McArthur and others celebrity teachers spewing their Lordship Salvation myths are the epitome of false teachers. Most of their teachings about Christianity are in fact biblical, which is what makes them so convincing. It's that 5% of error in their Soteriology that subtly teaches a works based salvation that is so deceptive and damnable. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. 2 Corinthians 11:13-‬15 False teachers look good on the outside, they appear to be godly men and are well respected by their many followers. The Pharisees in Jesus day were also popular and well respected, but Jesus harshly condemned them. Jesus condemnation applies equally to the many false teachers of today. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all uncleanness. So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. Matthew 23:27‭-‬28 Modern day Pharisees are proud. Please take Jesus' words to heart in the following parable.... “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 18:10‭-‬14 isn't John McArthur and other Lordship Salvation teachers and their adherents rather like the Pharisee in this parable? They take pride in their own good works and their service to God and their morality, thinking that they are better than us who simply believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation. They look down their nose at us nasty sinners, while we cling to the Gospel, knowing that we have absolutely nothing good to offer God, pleading for God's mercy. Hell will be filled with obedient, fervent, service-minded, law-keeping, modern day Pharisees who trusted in themselves instead of believing in the Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation of their souls. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Matthew 7:21‭-‬23 Lordship Salvation teachers and their decieved followers will cite Matthew 7:21-23, saying that it applies to us who simply have faith in Jesus Christ for our justification, but it actually is about them who are trusting in their own works for their justification (Lord Lord, look at the many works we did in your name) If Matthew 7:21-23 were about us who are saved apart from the works of the law, it would say something like, "Lord Lord, in your name, we only had faith in you". But it doesn't say that, does it. Please be careful to put your faith in Jesus and not your own works. Renounce the many false teachers out there that you have been following, as i did. They want to persuade you with their false gospel, laying heavy burdens on you too heavy to bear, and you might end up in Hell if you are not careful. Jusus paid it all, and by Him alone we are saved. The Gospel is faith in Jesus Christ apart from the works of the law. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” ‭Matthew‬ ‭11:28‭-‬30‬ ‭

Paul often uses NASB95. HeartCry Missionary Society also publishes works using the ESV.

He studies in the context of the church because we live in the new covenant, not because the Catholic Church wrote the Bible. The Catholic Church came years after the manuscripts that we have from the New Testament.

The catholic church that wrote the Bible is the same catholic church that is mentioned in the confessions. It’s a lowercase c catholic. Not the institution founded in Rome.
