I feel like the reason Lordly Lode was so slept on is because it's not worded very well. The special summon effect lock only applies after you activate the second effect, so it works like a "For the rest of this turn" lock even though it reads like a "The turn you activate" lock.

Hey, everyone. Made a mistep on the Fire King Explanation. Its actually more busted. I was under the impression that Sky Burn had to destroy the cards because of how it worked in Master Duel, but you can do it EITHER WAY and the combo still works! Have fun destroying multiple cards with ease!

Fun Fact: after watching your Fire King deck profile, I decided to take a deep dive and hard focus on the Ninja archetype. As a ninja veteran player I can say with full confidence I figured out how to build the deck. I did 10 test hands and only bricked three times.

I've been an active Fire King Tri Brigade gamer for a while now and I gotta say it is slept on! It's relatively cheap to build, and packs tons of interaction. Often times 1 card combo into 5 disruptions before digging into your hand traps and before setting up Tri brigade package. Playing either first or second you have plenty of options with interaction and board breakers. And Mermail Atlanteans are another decks I've slowly been building irl while I play it online. Deck is super resilient against hand traps (except Droll) and puts up some really nice boards with hand rips. Both decks tickle my brain with their combo / toolboxy gameplay.

I’ve been getting back into the hobby after 10 years of being in the shadow realm… the local shop is incredible and so friendly and I’ve already met a bunch of cool peeps and I’ve built 4 decks that I’m confident with 1 of them being my “competitive” deck. I have everything I need, dice, boxes, binders, mats, Konami ID, EVERYTHING. but I’ve been putting off joining the locals. Even tho I’ve watched several duels already and played 1 Mach duel; I’m still hesitating to join. And I’m not sure why. I’m scared of my own ignorance, like timing, rules, overall game knowledge. If anyone can say something other than generic encouragement in all ears😂 because as a 27yo man I can’t find myself to sign up for a yugioh competition where most people there are loosing anyway.. 😆

5:41 - this is actually incorrect. Fire King Sky Burn doesn't require the targeted Fire King monsters to be destroyed in order to destroy the opponent's targeted cards. Even if at resolution you have 0 of your Fire King targets, you would still pop the opponent's targets.

@juicegrape1494 it's the wording of Sky Burn. Since the effect says "destroy THEM" it means that it will destroy all available targets at resolution. For comparison S:P Little Knights's second effect to banish two targets states "banish BOTH" which means that both targets must be available at resolution in order for the effect to resolve.

The play is still correct, the wording is wrong. Both of the the cards say "them" which means they will attempt to destroy as many as possible.

it seems the format is getting extra deck reliant again. with Spright topping some events and Swordsoul getting new support, switch gimmick puppet for arcjet in branded and it’ll hold up again. Maybe old Dogmatika can get some love. Really with the Albaz Lore anime coming, the whole story should get some more attention.

Modern galaxy eyes 😏. Imagine tenpai- but with a pair 🥜... Also prefers to otk in one 10k+ atk rather then the onslaught :) . Slightly more polite, yet even more rewarding in terms of otk ability and has a better turn 1 board then tenpai. (Photon lord, g eyes solflare, titanic galaxy, and either and imperm or tachyon transmigration set and a g eyes photon in hand from the photon lord search ).
