If you don't want the batter to flip his bat, then pitch better.

The kids need to see stuff like this. Sports shouldn't be super serious all the time. They are meant to be fun. He's just having fun out there. And a bat flip certainly isn't going overboard on his celebration. There shouldn't be a problem with this. I totally agree with Colin

Football players celebrate touchdowns Basketball players celebrate dunks Baseball players celebrate home runs... So what in the hell is the problem?? People are way too sensitive these days, I mean it is so sad how gullible people really are these days, they'll create controversy over spreading too much mayo on your sandwich. That's how dumb people are, that's what we have to hear from people who bag on athletes when they don't even have an inch of the talent that these players have.

I like your point about basketball players celebrating dunks, because a dunk is only two points out of the hundred or so that you score in the whole game. If you're celebrating that, it's only because of the flair. Hitting a monster home run like that is at least on par with a damn dunk and you should be allowed to celebrate it, especially when the home run is the difference in the game.

I love baseball and I 100% agree with Colin on this. Baseball needs to stop being so uptight and a Buzz Killington. Embrace a little celebration and energy from the young players. Baseball needs players with some charisma, that will help attract younger viewers.

It's not taunting, it's a bat flip. Getting rid of bat flips or getting riled up about them is really dumb. I'm a pitcher. As a pitcher, if a bat flip gets under your skin, you should pitch better. He didn't talk to any of the opposing players like he did against Baltimore. In a situation like that, he deserves to celebrate

absolutely, I love Bryce Harper, and José Bautista, going and fighting guys. I love the Red Sox outfield doing dances. I love the rangers infield goofing off. the are 182 games in a season and as a baseball guy it can get hard to watch sometimes, but the fights and dances make me feel like the games matter and the players care.

I have no problems with bat flips, but what Bautista did wasn't just a bat flip. It was blatant disrespect for the opponent. It was excessive. That's what the problem was. And many others out there are fighting the same battle as him. He shouldn't be given a pass simply for making the postseason for the 1st time.

+Mark Godfrey Yeah; Bautista also let his voice get elevated when being interviewed, because he's a piece of shit who doesn't respect the game of baseball. It's not supposed to be fun, goddamn it. What an asshole. I hope they cut him for his lack of class. Frankly, he shouldn't have even swung at the ball; is there anything more disrespectful than showing up your opponent and making them look bad by crushing a pitch like that? A true gentleman would respect all the work Sam Dyson has put into being a professional pitcher and let him get the strike.
