All four singers brought passion and quality to the show and the band were as crisp as ever - and we've seen them four times now. Every note in that arrangement is perfect. The sparse piano and muted electric bring back the Nashville sound from the days of Chet. Ashley’s solo eloquently displays her instrumental skills in her own style. Her vocals laid back into the ensemble groove are sublime. Very effective. Excellent engineering, balanced and clean. I can't recall hearing this song before, but I avoided The Smiths for a few reasons when I was younger. Most of which boil down to Morrissey for reasons other than his musical talent. So what I adore about this cover is Campbell evokes his sound without it taking over her voice. The mellow gothy vibe of their songs is perfect for outlaw country to play with. Brilliant work.
