It’s not about relaxing, it’s not about taking care of your body, not mainly anyway, it’s about changing your way of looking at it. This is about what you tell yourself

I absolutely love listening to you. I’m a massive doer in life and with my anxiety issue and I get frustrated with myself that all of the things I try to do doesn’t make it go away but you are helping me to just let it be and let go of control and get on with my life. Thank you so much!

These videos are so useful as they reinforce so many other aspects and make connections. Each one always clarifies at least one thing for me - the glass of sand and water was excellent and the connection with our “self regulating system”...this really made me understand the need to “ do nothing” .... but that is often very hard to learn

I perfectly agree. What makes it hard are the sensations but, OK. Let it settle down, let it go, put it down, don’t get involved, stop watching it, leave it be. Do nothing and just go on with life. Continue. Noted

Great analogies with the sand and the toy. I can relate. It’s not easy. Meditation helps me be proactive but not a cure all.

I'm the epitome of a doer and anxiety and my relentless fight to stop it is showing me that. I love your videos, they are so authentic and accurate, and your analogies are perfect and make me laugh. Thank you for the content!

This is not about doing, it’s about not doing. You don’t make it go away, you let it go away. You got anxious, you didn’t like it, but you can deal with it, dust yourself off and move on. When you look back at it, don’t fret, say “actually that wasn’t so bad.” And gradually it will fade away

It's so so hard because my symptoms are so strong. Just laying doing or stopping can take an hour to settle a panic attack

Dang, that toy is a perfect analogy! I am not sure why I need to hear this over and over again, until it will finally sink in. Thank you again. 😊

So - We overcome anxiety by basically doing nothing right. Its like those animals who have an ruff around their neck. It prevents them from scratching and repoening the wound. After a time, the wounds are closed and the ruff removed, so even if they scratch it, it wont really matter- therefore they wont even be wanting to scratch because there are no wounds left. To zoom out of anxiety as a gigantic monster - we can see it just as a damn itching. we just have to do nothing about it and it will basically go away. There we go

I don't know why there are not many more comments but Michelle this is one of the best examples over the internet I was quite confused with the Shaan kasm analogy of acceptance but you nailed it basically he and you are on the same page but you just summed up his whole youtube channel into this one video just by giving the examples of sand jar Loved it. God bless you

This is 100% me. I have been watching all your vids (and can't wait for the private session I booked!) I feel hope for the first time in so long. This one is possible one of my fav. I am completely the do-er. tell me what to do and I will do those things! I feel like (though maybe this is more doing) I need to make a sand/water jar to remind myself. Leave it the eff alone!

Hoo boy, didn't expect to get choked up about a jar of watery sand. This is haaaaaard. I can work it in principle, but some panicky sensations are just intense and i can't resist the urge to "do something". Lately I've been opting for remedies created by a skilled homeopath, as it seems less like a medicalised "oh, this is serious" type response.

I've been there, like you, countless thousands of times. But unless and until you really follow what Michelle is advocating here - and really let go - I fear that you'll continue to have problems. My view, for what it's worth, is don't waste your money on homeopathy. I tried that too. Hope you get to where you want to be.

The jar of sand and the toy are good concrete examples to make your point of letting our systems settle on their own but I want to know how to not get all "shaken up" to begin with.
