Chopin's song played by Miyako (guitar / keyboard) as an intro is "Etude OP10, No12", known as "Revolution Etude". In 1831, a rebellion by some officers and civilians against the Polish government under the control of the Russian Empire, called the "November Revolution," failed due to Russia's direct intervention. Chopin will be informed of this news during his journey. He lost his place to return. When Russian troops invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agents announced "Etude OP10, No12" in Paris. People called it a "revolutionary etude" because the agents exaggerated and promoted the song. Miyako composed "Swan Song" with reference to this "revolutionary etude" and Dvorak's "From the New World". Former ballerina Asami (vocal) wrote a poem inspired by "Swan Lake" based on the historical episode of "Revolutionary Etude". "Swan Song" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to regain fatherland, and is a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES can produce.

@@germanslice I honestly don't think so. I don't think Band Maid can write and play a piece like this or A Frozen Serenade or Edge of the world. Does Kanami play piano like a concert pianist? Band Maid would match Lovebites in some aspects but versatility and uniqueness is much narrower.

Chopin (pronounced Show-pan) was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the greatest classical composers of all time. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor).

Thank you for correcting his pronunciation - it was driving me nuts! I grew up listening to my mom playing Chopin, including Revolutionary Etude and Fantasie Impromptu. Looking at that list of composers Miyako likes, it appears that she and my mom (now 78 years old) have very similar tastes :)

@@hiawatha.g I hear ya. I grew up listening to my mom's classical and folk music, and my dad's country music. Then, playing various instruments in school (primarily clarinet, saxophone, and bassoon), I played everything from marches to jazz to symphonic. Once I got into guitar and bass, I was always drawn to bands whose music had complexity and substance. I love the way modern metal draws inspiration from so many different musical traditions!

What I consider 1 of the big 3, the other 2 are A Frozen Serenade and Edge of the World, both live version if / when you react. Like you said, not much to say after a performance like that other than, why Lovebites stands out from all the other bands. These performances just leave you admiring them so much, me anyways. The talent is once in a lifetime and I'm happy to be able to see it! Keep it going, it only gets better! 🐺
