My dad told me when I was very young that is wasn't like the boxing matches we watched, but it was the male version of the Soaps my mom used to watch. I was about 7 or 8 years old when I seen a commercial for a cage fighting match. Don’t know what promotion it was, but I believe it was one of the shamrock’s fighting on the card. My fellow 7 or 8 year old friend who was watching with me declared how stonecold Steve Austin or the rock would beat up the best guy the cage fighting promotion had and how stupid and fake the cage fighting was. now I don’t remember ever thinking about or having the conversation about professional wrestling being real or fake, until that moment. In that cage fighting commercial these guys didn’t have costumes or a story line they just showed them punching each other in the face in slow motion shots of the contact of fists hitting faces. That’s the instance of me knowing wrestling was fake and to be honest I watched it even more after that. But I was 7 years old how idiotic could people have been to believe the wwf was real? Anyways I choke slammed my friend after that and hit him over the head with a aluminum garbage can.
