Tom Bristow Fury has a psychological disorder...he was severely depressed. This is a discussion of normal competitive mentality. And Chael’s absolutely correct. @Dowhat Iwant Is that the one where they all get crazy drunk and wrestle each other, while secretly wearing their gf's underwear because they miss her so much, because she's too busy studying and screwing the guy who helps her get A's on all her assignments? jk I think we're all just having a bit of fun with Chael's analogy in the comment section because, typically, analogies are supposed to make lessons easier to understand, by being relatable for the average person. And, Chael's takes a more targetted approach in terms of the group he's aiming to help.
@cerebralmethod91124 жыл бұрын
@Dowhat Iwant So, in you're understanding, they take turns on the 32 year old, and wrestle each other for the bedroom TV remote, while they're waiting for their turn? Is it all happening in the same room? Does she shower in between turns? What are you saying actually happens with all these guys struggling for power over the tv remote in their bedroom? jk

I've been a fan of MMA for a long time, though it's only in the last year or two that I've started to pay closer attention to the sport. I remember Chael's classic first fight with Anderson Silva, and I just couldn't stomach him at the time. I thought he was such a cocky and disrespectful s.o.b. that came off as kind of an arrogant elitist, lol. That's funny to me now because I realize how great of a job he did crafting his character as the heel, and my hate was real! Since his retirement I have become such a fan of him as a human being. I'm not lying when I tell you that when I heard him speak after the Machida fight, I almost teared up. He's such a great guy who has a lot to offer the world and I just admire the hell out of him. Thank You Chael. I love hearing you speak brother!

I played baseball, football, and soccer in school. The only one that I thought had a little mental was baseball. And that's because you have to think about what kind of pitch is likely to come and you can't let someone who has really good breaking balls and throws 90mph make you think u can't hit it.

Uncle Chael i think you may be confusing excitement and mood with having a good mentality the person who doesn't wanna run doesn't have to be excited to be doing it but he does have the right mentality in that he follows through

The person who cares is at a disadvantage in these circumstances.. Chael is right for sure.. I’m just not sold on confidence not playing a role in performance.. cause having the confidence to throw a left or right hand you know and has proven to be effective is pretty plain to see.. idk. The guys at the top especially the best to do it definitely seem confident in their skill and ability when you see them land .. the striking Dept to me is where it shines most.. I mean it does in the other areas too just not as bright.

Alright, I have some issues with your analogy. Speaking in generality which we are, mental states of mind tend to reflect physical performance and results. In some cases there are a groups of people who are more "robotic/goal oriented" that will ignore their favorite TV show find their shoes and go run and that is great. However, for the majority of people that have a sense of confidence they will perform better. Let's be clear there are those who create a false sense of hype, get pumped up but don't follow up with hard work and they fail. However, self confidence tends to spawn from the perception of knowing something very well so the mental confidence in real... It is the result of repetition. I've rarely seen people with low energy, low optimism, low "can do attitude" perform well. I'd like to know your thoughts, perhaps I am off the mark. Thanks.

You are confusing mental with emotional. The person that absolutely hates the running or whatever else they may have to do to prepare but does it anyway is definitely using mental strength to make that decision. If you have two athletes competing against each other and on paper they are equal in strength, ability and knowledge, the one with more mental discipline will win every time.
