The tier lists difference in diff. countries is pretty interesting. Vlov to me was mad strong out the gate so hearing Japan's opinion on him be so different makes me question my reality lol. Is there a reason for the difference? What do we have that they don't and vice versa yknow?

what's neat about french bread is that the game's universal mechanics usually make it such that even the "low tiers" are still very much good. happened starting with unist and mbtl seems pretty well balanced too

Vlov is only considered low tier in Japan where he's very unpopular In the NA scene, Vlov has been a lot more optimized, and he's considered top tier.

MBTL is a recent example of a fighting game being given up on too soon and then developing into something awesome. There's so many cool mechanical interactions, reads, oki, and option selects that are missing in a lot of recent fgs. This game is a blast to watch. Also same Jiyuna, I've had like the biggest MBTL itch for the last few weeks. Sadly I don't own the game, but I've been just watching like every post on Melty on Demand. If I ever get this game, I'm maining Mario.

Its fun to watch, for a lot of people it wasnt fun to play. It became more and more about playing the system over playing the game. Even top level players dont want to use the rps system and mb is full of option selects that you yourself will be forced to use if you want to be viable. The outrageous disjointed hitboxes means some characters play a very different game than others and oppressive characters who used to pay for that gross offense are now given a ridiculous number of ways out.

MD wakeup is a strong defensive option on wakeup but ONLY when the opponent cannot activate theirs in response. It is also not just Masoma that has a strong Vlov in NA. We also have Safe, Medusa, Akimi and many other great players that use Vlov. Apologies to any that I haven't named if you are reading this comment.

Into the video I found the point about how international tier lists tend to differ from country to country quite intriguing. I find that interesting it could diverge in results among different cultures. I guess also now a days how accessible information is this still happens I suppose. These are my two mains in MBTL. Dead Apostle is just my jam, but I tried so hard to not main Vlov. I just have such a great success rate with the character. I didn't choose Vlov. Vlov chose me.

for TK on hitbox use your right thumb to press jump and you'll find it much easier. basically makes it a regular QCF or DP input except you tap two buttons with your right hand instead of one.

The hard part isn't just being able to do a TK. The combo is tricky because the first TK is fast and then the second with the 236bb is delayed. its the weird rhythm with timing the TKs that makes it annoying because you have to cross up doing the first one. Lunar wrote a whole guide on just doing this one combo. It definitely gets easier once you find the rhythm but trust me it's disingenuous to think that if you know how to do a TK the combo is EZ.

Is keepaway just innately strong in this game? Everyone knows the drawback to keepaway is that once they're pressured, they crack... But in MBTL they can just moon drive back to neutral as you say...
