Glad to see you back. I’m hoping MH3 brings back mono red. Or at least we get something out of a standard set. But resonate with your sentiments on modern game play. It does get old at times. And I feel like people have become saltier.

Thank you, and one day I might see how they do together! Only issue is that we need a mix of burn and creatures, Fable obviously is a creature slot and so is Buzzcrusher, and Pyromancer is non-negotiable. Bonecrusher Giant is kind of awesome because it fills both slots. That doesn't leave a lot of room for Fable but I'm sure I'll try squeezing it in at some point.

I’ve been thinking of something like this: 8 Mountain 4 Sunken Citadel 4 Demolition Field 4 Field of Ruin 4 Urza's Saga 2 Den of the Bugbear 4 Fable of the Mirror-Breaker 4 Seasoned Pyromancer 4 Krenko's Buzzcrusher 4 Cleansing Wildfire 4 Flame Slash 4 Lightning Bolt 4 Unholy Heat 4 Mishra's Research Desk 1 Shadowspear 1 Stone of Erech or Soul-Guide Lantern I know that 26 lands seems crazy but Urza’s Saga is more of a pseudo-land. Urza’s Saga can quickly convert into both lands and artifact in the graveyard turning on Unholy Heat.

@@eltonwong1988I've played 26 lands before, it's very justifiable especially since Urza's Saga doesn't stick around forever to make mana. Also, for what it's worth, I've lately been finding Buzzcrusher to be a bit better as an SB card, take that for what it's worth but by all means trust your own experimentation first, I've only recently been playing the card. It does seem to definitely deserve at least an SB spot, it's just very mediocre when it doesn't destroy the land outright.

@@Magic_M_Hayashihey if you don't like post-MH2 Modern then Historic is a decent alternative for a powerful eternal format that avoids some of the more broken cards that restrict what might otherwise get played. There's a reason you won't find me playing Timeless.

Great to have you back. 😁 There is a finite amount of Fun to be had in a game of MTG. Your round 2 opponent was sure about you taking all of it for yourself and couldn't handle it. XD On another note: I am gonna take the Mono White Restoration List, splashing black for Bowmasters and Legion's End, to Prague in a few weeks. Also: Is there a Discord or something of sorts set up yet, I know it got discussed in the comments of a video a while back.

I don't think I can post a link in the Comments, so here it is: MB: 4 Castle Ardenvale 4 Demolition Field 4 Field of Ruin 4 Get Lost 2 Heliod's Intervention 2 Lion Sash 4 March of Otherworldly Light 4 Mazemind Tome 4 Orcish Bowmasters 2 Path to Exile 6 Plains 4 Solitude 4 Sunken Citadel 2 Swamp 4 The Restoration of Eiganjo 4 Wall of Omens 2 Winds of Abandon SB: 2 Blossoming Calm 2 Burrenton Forge-Tender 2 Engineered Explosives 1 Extirpate 3 Legion's End 3 Spark Rupture 2 Surgical Extraction Get Lost is exactly the Upgrade, the Deck needed. Lion Sash is mainly there to get Games over. Helios's Intervention is in what I 'd consider the Flex Slots of the Deck. You can Run Path and Winds #3 in that slot. But its decent as there are lots of artifacts and Enchantments to destroy in this Meta. (+ I couldn't cut anything from my SB) Rn in the Rhinos Meta Orcish Bowmasters is obviously not as strong, but I still really like it. Its a good threat for other Matchups and attacks at Angles that white usually is not as good at punishing. Also the best way to beat opposing Bowmasters, are your own. SB is tuned for my local meta so changing it might be necessary.

i went to a local friday night modern bracket and I 2-1'd with 8 field !! It beat tron and amulet titan, very happy I can get into modern in a very affordable manner !

Dodging Burn is imo a pretty decent tactic. Burn is in a pretty bad Space right now. Surgical is also my main SB plan vs Rhinos in my Orzhov list atm.

You need to try a playset of leyline of combustion its lifechanging against targeted disard, scapeshgift, bowmasters ...etc

I'd actually say no. Fault and Wildfire ensure T2 Demolition Field effects. And you would need to cut either Blast Zone, Fault or Smashing from the Main, both of which is not an option imo. Sunken Citadel Shines when Activationg Creature Lands or Castles. But both are not Present here. What I do think the Deck needs though is Fable. Copying Buzzcrusher sounds like an amazing Endgame

The dude playing t3feri, chalice, and counterbalance is getting salty about mild land destruction (not even stone rains or strip mines, just punishment for not playing basics)? I think in competitive mtg you shouldn't get mad at opponents for trying to win, it seems silly to me. There are many ways to play casually, MODO modern leagues are not one of them.

Don’t let the round 2 opponent get to you. It’s modern, anything goes and he’s playing a control deck. That’s the most boring way to play from my experience. At least with mono red you can control the game if you have to and actually try to present a clock. He must be a commander player.
