Looking back at 2.X 4*, most of them are Support based (including MC even tho they are 5*). This is because Main DPS 4* will easily get powercrept by 5*. I think going to 3.X they will keep pump out more 4* Sub-DPS or Support so I don't see much problem with the current flow for 4* releases

Just getting the 4 star is a pain. The wish store should rotate more than two units. I'm waiting for a berserker/hp loss support for Arlan, Blade to shine (No, Jade E2 hardly helps Arlan, a single target unit.)

I would say Sampo could easily come back to being top tier 4 star if we ever get a DOT support he already doing good for Black Swan when you don't have Kafka. Hoyo just don't care about DOT right now. Before 2.x started most of the 4 star roster were doing just fine in endgame but they tripled the hp since 1.6 MOC 12. MOC 10 now has more hp than MOC 12 did back than which is bonkers.

1:18 no tingyun is alright for that role but pulling for sunday even for f2p players is much more viable than flat energy + other minor buffs that she gives she's serviceable but not game changing

Well, the main issue is actually that 5 star units are really accessible and not rare at all for even F2p in HSR. In most gacha games the majority of the characters are 4stars with a few "special" 5 star units. HSR is really generous in making 5 star characters easy to get, but this effectively makes them less special and thus makes 4 star characters feel bad in comparison. If 5 stars were rarer, they would feel like what E6 characters feel like now, something for only whales and not something that most players care too much about. The 4 star characters would feel better because they'd be normal instead of weak. And if end game was more difficult because of this, then people wouldn't really care about it as much, just like most people aren't trying to 0 cycle or do the max difficulties in SU. %star units being so easy to get made the 4 star units feel like punishments instead of 5 star units feeling like rewards. But that being said, I do wish that we had more 4 star units, with at least half of new units being 4 star . I mean we don;t even have a 4 star preservation character outside of M7 who really doesn't tank damage. If you look at it, the space station belobog, and Xianzhou had at least some 4 stars but Penacony really didn't. But even in the early days, characters like Dunn, Master Gongzu, could have been interesting 4 stars and the same goes for Sioban and Micah. Not to mention Reca.

Easy accessible but depend on each others luck i mean from the start of fhe game my acc has always losy 50/50 and only get 5* at 90 or 100 pull which is alot for f2p😂😂😂

just always pull for supports . you can clear all end game contents . i clear moc 12 node 2 using march 7th shifu galagher . on apoc node 2 i use serval .

doesnt yunli already has a pretty high aggro value and if you put her in a middle part of team she nearly guaranteed getting hit by from three teammate hitting attacks, not to mention her ult directly having a taunt mechanic

Only 7? That's...pretty good when compared to a lot of gachas. Hell, in nikke the SR units are worthless. The fact that multiple 4 stars are high tier and meta for end game content in a gacha is insane to me. Keep in mind, this often leads to incentive getting lower to pull 5 stars. I lost count how many people skipped lingsha since galli is so good. Topaz? Best in slot for best dps in the game? Eh, moze and march are good enough. Hell, I still use my Sampo for my kafka dot and it beats end game fine. Obviously black swan is infinitely better but Sampo is still enough when played well. Idk, I like the fact that multiple 4 stars and free units are viable and strong. Hell, serval is clearing aps right now. Do I want more 4 stars? Sure. But when compared to a lot of other standard gachas, I think they do a pretty damn good job all things considered. Just my perspective

I don't disagree about any of this, and especially like the position on strong niche roles for 4s. But, arent March hunt, Moze and Gallagher the most recent 4s (other than maybe Misha, who is also decent)? It seems to me like they are already doing what you are saying. For months after launch, I was screaming exactly what you are saying. But now, it feels like the ratio 4s that are viable investments is actually better than most other games. True that it is only 7, but that is somewhere around 1/3 of the pool, I think. I can think of numerous games, off hand, that inflate their pull with useless 4s (and even 5s) while only having 1-2 that have any value. I feel like currently the pool feels pretty balanced between f2p and cashers - At least far more balanced than I expected a year ago.

Actually this community of 4 star only clearing has definitely been complaining about the much increased difficulty. Its definitely getting much harder. I've been getting many comments that say it's nigh impossibly to clear with 4 stars only. 5 star supports are a must these days. Sure its still possible, but insanely difficult.
