They do know that anyone of them could have searched the bodies to check for their roles right? It's not exclusive to the detective only and some of those RDMs are pretty justifiable just from having 1 detective, 2 innocents, and 2 traitors as if there was one dead confirmed innocent, the last innocent would be gunning for the other two traitors.

AletJason8 I have a hunch that they've agreed to only have the detective do it by the way they're playing. It would be way to easy to find the culprit if they did do it. Sam does use it at one point but I think he was fully in game as he always is. Or they just don't know ;) .

There IS a 'right way' to play; it's the way that the people there, playing, have all agreed on, and we do hear them very mildly and tentatively trying to remind Sam of this, over and over, but of course he cannot or will not listen, and they don't want to to cause a huge blowup by the incredibly tempermental and immature Sam, so they let it go, over and over, but it visibly sucks a good deal out of the game even though D tries hard to edit around it (up until he gets fed up and provides a slow-motion replay, like in the recent nerf vid).
