Here's a theory, the 2 suspects killed the respected librarian in an attempt to frame Fungo. They knew he would look suspicious, but didn't realize that Dan would notice the badge. The deal was that the unnamed farmer would rise to the top of the farming economy after the fungo family was ruined by the drama, and the jobless villager would get to become a librarian to replace the one who was killed.

For the guard suggestion: You can put him in the corner, and on the 2 grass blocks either side of him replace them with Closed gates with green wool on top, then as long as he has a block above his head (which he should do with the current design) then he can’t escape but will be standing up. Only downside is you may need to crouch in order to get through the door

For the prison guard's name I suggest either: 'Jeremy' or 'Frederik Von Gallivanter III' as the job of keeping the prisoners of your village at bay is very demanding, so they should have a gallant name as a confidence boost

Thanks for the vid Dan. The concrete machine is pretty much the same concept with the only difference being that the dropper gives you concrete while you have a full inventory so you don't have to interact with your inventory. Also Dan should name the criminals. Also also, the looting II villager is probably an accomplice looking to monopolize on the looting market. For the farmer guy a toilet made out of a composter could let him replenish his trades. For the door's mechanism, a T latch could be used. They can easily be made using copper bulbs. The guard could get killed by a golem. He needs a bit of protection. My suggestion is either something too short for the golems to get through or rails which mobs avoid walking on.

You should name the guard "Kartzel". It's similar to the Basque word for jail! Another note, Iron Golems attack zombified piglins on sight, so your guard might get attacked if he's out in the open and isn't protected. It would also be wasting a nametag.

tip for transporting villagers by boat. You can now lead boats and you can use the leads to pull boats over the edge of blocks. May still be difficult but at least it will make things easier.

I think you should call them ‘prisoner 1’ and ‘prisoner 2’ so that, if they escape, accidentally, you know who they are. Also if they despawn because they aren’t named. Glad they got brung to justice 🧑🏻‍⚖️

Hi Dan!! Just a suggestion for the guard, you can place trap doors around the guard and flip them up, to box him in and then break the mine cart, then he’ll be standing and can’t get out!
