This is a man who has proclaimed that he doesn't need to tell the truth as long as he's not under oath in court, and whom was actually investigated for lying under oath. That's why nothing he says can be taken as the truth. Firstly, him and his wife were investigated for lying under oath, which they were supposed to attend a police interview for which they ran away from. That was the only "persecution" they had, which was just having to answer questions by the police. Secondly, his son Shengwu said he didn't want to enter politics, yet in all his interviews for asylum he claims that his son was blocked from entering politics. And then he claims that his brother's son Hongyi is entering politics to continue the family line in politics, when Hongyi himself said he didn't want to do so. Lee Hsien Yang has spread so much misinformation. Even the fact that the demolition clause for the house at Oxley was removed in the 5th will, and re-inserted into the 7th (final will) only when his wife rushed to get it signed. His wife was suspended because of how she rushed the signing of the will in which her husband would benefit, and this was the reason why the police wanted to interview him because in this case of the final will, Lee Hsien Yang was suspected of lying under oath. Everything was by his own hands, and then he blames his brother, the then-PM of Singapore.

I am with Mr Lee Hsien Yang (the brother of the former PM) on this one, because while Lee Kuan Yew probably sued and intimidated for stability for economic growth, this new strain of use of legal instruments is simply deplorable (former PM or his proxies using it). Fact 101 - Mr Lee Kuan Yew has always, I mean always, insisted he didn't want to build a memorial for himself. He wanted his house demolished. In fact, he didn't even want to use his name on any landmarks. He was quite detached from attachment of such recognition to his work. His house must be demolished. Mr Lee Hsien Yang must be able to go back to his native country and speak his mind. I think this asylum being sought by the son of, probably, father of modern Singapore (and he would have hated being called that), is simply not acceptable. I stand with Mr Lee Hsien Yang on this one. He has to be invited back, free of all intimidation and potential charges, and be provided with the freedom and guarantees of speech and conduct so long as it is legal and does not hurt another human being.
