This weekend is filled to the brim with festivals. We’ve got music-Twin Cities Jazz Fest. We’ve got art-Wayzata Art Experience. We’ve got culture-
Midsommardagen at Gammelgarden Museum. We’ve got food-AFton Strawberry Fest. We’ve got community-Rockin’ Rogers days. And some belated Juneteenth celebrations!
And admission for festivals is generally free.

Wazyata Art Experience

If you’re bringing kids along to shop the dozens of high quality art vendors, here’s what you need to know: young ones will love the Activity Zone, a creative space on Lake Street stocked with activities like crafts and chalk art for kids. They also might enjoy a (FREE!) boat ride on Lake Minnetonka or watching the Boat Light Parade on Saturday night. Of course, there will be great food, too. All weekend, June 21-23, 2024.
Juneteenth: A Family Celebration

Minnesota State Capitol, St. Paul
While you’re celebrating Juneteenth, make sure to stop in and admire the State Capitol building. It’s simply stuffed with art treasures and fascinating architecture. My kids have enjoyed completing the official art scavenger hunt activity (on sale at the gift shop for a small fee) or you can explore at your own pace. June 22, 2024, festival 12-4pm. FREE.

Traditional Swedish music and dances celebrate the long days of summer! Building Tours are FREE. Kids will delight in searching out the colorful Swedish Dala horses around the property. Bring a picnic lunch of your own or purchase Swedish meatballs and ice cream from the vendors. Learn more about GAMMELGARDEN MUSEUM in Scandia. June 22, 2024, 10am-4pm. FREE.
