Bednar said it best, they could make it more difficult for Otter. It doesn't matter how elite the opposing goalie is. Goalies can't stop what they cannot see, ask Helley and the Jets.

Dumping the puck and chase is not the right strategy, you are just giving it to them and they carry it back into our d zone easy because we don’t offer much resistance in the neutral zone. We need to carry it in with layers behind, they will poke it and we have to retrieve them. Sorta pushing them back. It will wear them down eventually and entry will be easier

They have no strategy though. Just watch their PP. Cant even gain entry. If they somehow get there, then one, two passes, and the puck is out after a turnover or deflection. Dallas been playing aggressive PK and they couldnt even adjust after game 2. Thus, this is on coaching. If they cant fix this PP situation for game 4, it will tell me that they just cant and there is no antidote. Series will be over then.

Dallas plays the trap to clog up the neutral zone. Dumping it in is the counter to that strategy. They just have to commit and put better effort into the retrieval Dallas would rather force the Avs to dump then sit back and let them break in on a rush

Lol...what are they supposed to say? It's over....we're done for...not sure if we can come back? Of course they're going to say what they're saying because you know it never as bad as it seems and you're only down 2-1 with another home game before hitting the road. I always hate these pressers. I'm a Stars fan and when we were down 0-2 to Vegas both games on home ice nobody quit or gave up or thought it was over. You just get ready and come out hard the next game. The Avs I'm positive will come out guns blazing and if they can finally score first and get a goal or two lead It's going to force Dallas to open up more and take more chances which can only help Colorado. Win and it's 2-2 and a best of 3. Big difference from being down 3-1 or 3-0. If they win it's more than likely going 7.

They havent lead in this series yet. Very disturbing and reminiscent of last year's first round against Kraken. Also, this game reminded me a few games from the regular season. Like the one against Montreal or Blue Jackets. Those teams were really bad but Avs couldnt crack those goalies early and lost by surrendering to the only high danger chances those other teams had. This is what happened last night. Avs pretty much constantly attacking the entire game, Dallas shows up twice on the other side and scores. Losing this pivotal game 3 is huge. Series is over. This Avs team reverted back to how they played in the regular season - inconsistency, defensive assignment lapses, giving up on plays, dumb penalties, lines 2-4 not producing, etc. Last, Mac was frustrated, Makar was invisible, Mikko been trash the entire playoffs - mishandling of pucks, turnovers, dumb penalties by him. Val has been rather bad a couple of games now, Lekhy invisible. Midlestadt back to no show. PP is atrocious now. Cant gain entry and if they do, 2-3 passes and then a bad pass and the puck is out. Bad signs throughout. Can they win game 4? Sure, they can. Can they win the series? No.

That’s a shit ton of doom. People said the exact same thing after game 1 against Winnipeg. The Avs responded and turned it around. Yes, Dallas is a better team, but the Avs have yet to put together a full game. That can be encouraging and discouraging. But I’m betting they only play better and better from here.

It was the same case when Georgie was un trouble before round 1. Everybody wants Hill out. This round is far froment over. Dallas is not unbeatable, and they will make mistakes too. Ottinger will not stop all the Avs shot. Colorado have to improve on PP, that is an evidence, it will be the key for the reminder of this round 2

All the Avs need to do is play their game, not The Stars game. The stars play a very slow, clogged, sluggish game that centered around using their big bodies and wasting time. Avs just need to stay focused, because Dallas is not that good and as much as I hate to say it, the Avs are playing down to their level

Lol....that's an absurd observation. The Stars were neck and neck with the Avs for the top scoring offense in the league only scored 6 fewer goals. The Stars were also one of the best at odd man rushes this year. Do you even watch hockey or just a homer?

avs have better star players but dallas seems like a better overall team that cal roll 4 lines all game and not worry. imo we need the coach to step up, dallas is doing a good job at slowing down the avs
