Nothing Mr Fox said was illegal. Therefore he's perfectly entitled to say it. For a channel that bills itself as a free speech champion, I would say it was a breach of contract. Gb news made a BIG mistake getting rid of Laurence and Calvin. Free speech is free speech. We should be able to have free conversations where people can still be offended. Being offended is part of adult life but LIVING offended is a choice!

Laurence did break the rules, he did break his contract so GB news had to take action. It could have been a slap on the wrist or he could have been asked to apologise…. But Dan Wooten was suspended for smiling. Smiling? It was probably a smile of embarrassment. But Calvin??? What did he do? He spoke in support of free speech whilst Criticising what Fox said - and for that he got sacked! That is insane….

As well as OFCOM authoritarianism, another factor is that the balance sheet rules the boardroom. If advertisers and funders get twitchy, noble ideas of “free speech” go out the window.

My ex brother-in-law hung himself 3 years ago....the toxicity coming off from the journalist Ava Santina shows what a narcissist she really is. Lawrence Fox should not have lowered himself down to her level but sometimes anger can lead us down the wrong path. I hope it all blows over but highly doubt it.
