I was saying the same thing, they don't even have to break the bank, just hang on to the young stars, look for any strategic moves for veterans to fill in the gaps, and then sign maybe one big name free agent. But like you said, they won't. They'll trade all the young stars for peanuts as soon as their contracts are up. And as a Yankees and Astros fan, I will be here for the scraps.

For the record, players can still play while on waivers until a team submits a claim for them. Usually teams put guys on waivers and DFA them, which does remove them from the active roster, but the Giants are just hoping someone will claim him, rather than demoting him or cutting him outright. So they only have him on waivers in the hopes that they can clear salary by another team taking him. If he gets hurt this all backfires on them pretty badly.

What he did is wrong and as a rays fan I’m not happy with him but you got to understand the Caribbean culture this is almost normal over there he most likely saw male figures he looks up to growing up with young girls when my parents were teens in Cuba it was normal to see teachers with 14 year old students it’s like how some places are of consent is 16 or in the u.s where a 40 year old can date an 18 year old some will frown on it but they get a pass because it’s what we’ve been told is okay over in their culture the age is much younger as long as the parents allow it, Franco got put a jail because they wanted a money grab, although for us he is a sicko because that’s what we been taught in the USA over in DR people don’t see it the same way
