@di4mnd4092 жыл бұрын
all it takes is a lot of listening to music and recognizing the patterns that occur in songs. it blows your mind once you realize how many songs use the same chord progression and you can really tell which ones took more time into making the chords and harmonies in their song unique.
@peen2804 Жыл бұрын
wat X chord is still X chord (there’s a finite amount of chord voicings), Y note is still Y note, and Z harmonic structure/content is still Z harmonic structure/content regardless of what the source is. Thats kinda, you know, the entire point of ear training and the foundation of the majority of the worlds music If someone learns a difficult language, you wouldn’t be impressed that they understand that language coming from multiple different humans’ voices, you’d be impressed that they understand the words being said. Same principle here. It’s not a matter of understanding the “voice” (instrument) being used to convey a “language” (notes/harmony/etc), it’s a matter of fundamentally understanding the language itself that takes practice and skill.

The parallel harmony at 4:25 is very common in modern Japanese and Japanese-influenced music, I really like it. I've found that it normally starts on 6, going down to 5 chromatically, but also sometimes starts on 3, going to 2, like in this case. Very nice tune c:

Why did I start tearing up within seconds of hearing the piano version of Kapp'n's song tho??

Something that adds context to the KK Songs and the Kapp'n song, they're playing from dynamic music data, sort of like midi data, that lets them dynamically change instruments, singers and whatnot. This allows them to have the base "radio"/"aircheck" recordings with just the music (like with KK Jazz), or have concert versions with KK Slider singing (like with KK Cruisin'), it also lets villagers to sing along with the music and dance to the beat using their own voices. Because it's not playing off pre-recordings there's a sense of interactivity that can only be felt when playing the game itself. Even nearby instruments change keys to match the music, so they sound alrightish when you interact with them along to the beat. What's most fun about the KK Songs is that they're meant to sort of be parodies or homages to the songs in the real world, but in an abstract way. Like how when you see cartoon characters watch TV, it doesn't really resemble real TV, save to the broad strokes, and we only see it briefly. KK's songs are the game equivalent of that broad stroke for music. So they often use a solid foundation to evoke the genres of music they're paying homage to, but in a form that can be sung by a synthetic generated voices. Though it comes at the cost of sounding like a natural performance, which the actual background music for the game is made with (like the 5PM track). Neat fact: KK Slider himself is named for Kazumi Totaka, who composed and designed the sound for nearly every Nintendo console. And he composes all the KK songs.

The beginning of Kapa's song when you play it sounds like it goes from two love songs (Until I Found You by Steven Sanches, into 1,000 Years by Christina Perri) into this lovely goofy Kapa's song

New Horizons is my first AC game and the music took me by surprise. Sometimes I find myself dancing and singing instead of hitting rocks. KK's music? Excellence. Even the intro song takes me before I can even start playing. Your reaction to 5PM is me lmao why are they doing me like this on this cute game?!

Please cover more Animal Crossing music!! Especially the Animal Crossing: Wild World theme which for many years was the de facto theme to the franchise thanks to its reuse in City Folk and Super Smash Bros stage. It’s as equally complex as the rest of the music in AC

Wild world and New leaf were my faves. I was actually sorta disappointed with New horizons hourly music because it was just such a vibe change from the past games. They're not bad, but they're so different it makes me miss the nostalgia of past osts
