I take back everything I have said in the past about my GoXLR mini software. Reality Check. Writing Software is Hard. Writing new software to a high standard for a new hardware product launch is super hard. and yes. If they opensource the drivers it might get a lot more community support too! Great video. Fair and honest Review
@DarkSwordsman3 жыл бұрын
I think for me, the difference here is that the GoXLR is at least limited in functionality by the hardware that is on the device. Meanwhile, (at least based on what Epos said) the Mix is all software, at least for much of the control aspect. You can add more tracks, so it stands to reason that you should be able to add more output tracks and stuff like that. Also, I think something like open sourcing the drives would be huge. I think this has the opportunity to be the ultimate desktop mixing system on the planet, but there's a few things it's missing.

I plan to use the beacn create for my hyper x quadcast microphone model with rgb lighting, but i was wondering if the mixer would prevent my microphone from accessing the hyper x rgb software?, because it uses that software to change the color
@WarMomPT3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for illustrating the particular use-case scenarios. I'm in that group where I pair the PC Panel Pro with the Elgato virtual cables *just* to adjust volumes as I hear them (with OBS mostly just running Win-Capture-Audio, bypassing devices entirely, so submixing is *kind* of possible) and it suits me down to the ground at a more competitive price (assuming someone either already has an elgato mic or buys the set of 5 VB Virtual Cables on the cheap), but I'd hope that with some future software support these products find their exact audience.

While I do understand what you can do with devices like these, I still don't know why I would want to hear different volume levels on my headphones than what the stream hears. I mean, if for example I can't understand people in discord due to loud music, I also know the stream can't understand them. If I only lower the music for my headphones but not for the viewers, I wouldn't notice a problem until they tell me. So what exactly is the benefit to have different volumes for me and the stream?
@EposVox2 жыл бұрын
Think the opposite of what you just describe. For a pleasant listening experience, your game sound or music needs to be very quiet, as you described. But if you want to be super focused on the game, you want it much louder. I always keep my streams and recordings with set locked levels, meanwhile I always want full control to adjust what I hear
@fawkesmorque2 жыл бұрын
@@EposVox Ok, I never had that problem. I just balance music, ingame sound and discord so that I can hear everything fine and therefor the stream hears it fine too. Don't need very loud game sound to focus in a game. So for me there is no real benefit from different audio levels for my headphones and the stream. 🤷♂️ Guess I'll save me the money for such devices. 😎

Thanks for the good review on these products, highlighting the good and bad. Helped me decide these are not he devices for me, at this time at least. Not the GoXLR killer a lot of people kept making these out to be. My setup includes an SM7B mic, optical audio inputs from my console, and 3.5mm headset output, so the lack of I/O here really kills it for me. I would love submix support and to get rid of the buggy GoXLR software (not that the Beacn sounds any better right now), but at best I could swap out to my Mini (and tuck it away somewhere) and use the Create for volume control. Not worth the cost, effort, and likely frustration with bugs of BOTH the GoXLR and Beacn software forming some kind of nightmare Voltron with Windows. I hope they keep working on their software and in the future release some hardware with I/O support. Even if it is not an all in one device like the GoXLR, providing the I/O (with mic effects in software) as an extra device for the many of us with existing setups would go a long way.

Very nice. I have a question though . Lets say you had two audio sources, could you route one to your speakers and the other to your headphones and have them playing at the same time? Also , could you make a video discussing which simple/affordable XLR interfaces work well with this device? I already bought a XLR mic and was saving up for an interface but if I buy the BEACN Mix Create then there's no point in spending a lot of money on an expensive interface with a lot of features since the BEACN Mix Create already has a lot of these features. Do I just buy a cheap Neewer xlr interface for example? Is there a XLR interface with higher end components that makes your mic sound better and not have any extra features built in? Just trying to save some money and not waste it when it's not necessary.

I'm sad because this is probably the closest I've seen to a perfect mixer in my opinion, but it falls short in very small ways that you mentioned. I mainly just want to be able to create endless audio devices without much hassle that I can endlessly mix how I want. BEACN is right there, so close! Yet so far. It's basically a slightly better GoXLR, which in terms of audio routing, isn't great. If I had to pay a $5 subscription fee in order to use unlimited audio tracks, so be it! I just don't understand why that functionality cannot exist. I knew that people hyping up BEACN make me feel annoyed, because this always happens. I am hoping for future iterations to improve, because I would gladly spend my money on the Create even in it's current state.

BT Microphones are incapable of anything more than 16bit@32kHz for recording. BT drivers can make this look better with up-scaling options, but even the latest BT specification does not have a recording rate greater than 16bit@32kHz. There is a headphone rate available which is much higher, but recording is limited by design and will never change. The drivers make make 24bit@96kHz or higher "available", but this is by interpolation and psyco-acoustic up-scaling tricks. So, if you like your BT mic, fine. However, if you are a podcaster or live streamer, it is about the worst choice you can make.
