Look, these players train every other day. Just like any other elite professional athletes. They get paid big big wages, can financially retire their whole family at 35years old, if they can't do 3 hours of footy, 6 days a week for 10 months of the year then why the f are they getting paid soo much and complaining? Idk about anyone else but I remember playing footy for at least 3 hours every day all thru childhood. And at training it's rare to even play a proper full 90 mins of football. Sure the drill may be intense but I'd play 180 mins of football every day regardless of minor injuries for a fraction of the wages these players get. Sorry but there is no such thing as players playing too much football unless they are playing a game every single bloody day. They can Take their millions and shut up and get out there and run around and kick the ball and have some common decency to remember just how privileged they are and do it all with a smile on their faces. Millionaires complain they gotta "work" too much. SMH

Whilst I agree with quite a bit of your sentiment/thinking - the new guy at Utd coach should be afforded valid leeway due to limited training time with these inept players. Maybe he should have Utd play their second string for 2 weeks and he take his chosen players away and drill them to his preferred system?

Something that also hasn't helped is the immediate change of system. Normally when a new manager comes in, they go with the same shape for a few games as what they have been playing to keep some kind of familiarity. Then gradually they would change into their idea.

@frankford111518 сағат бұрын
What utter nonsense. If you cannot train, do not change too much. I expected better from Amorin but adding a defender to a team that cannot run and score makes no sense. He added a defender and they concede every corner. Man City score a header and not one of the three centre backs was near the scorer. Bournemouth score first and Zirkzee is closes, not one of the five defenders. Pathetic coaching at any level.
@mhtbfecsq18 сағат бұрын
The same applies to other managers too. Ange postecoglu has had to do an overhaul and instill a totally new philosophy after the club changed philosophy so many times due to chairman sacking managers all the time. On top of that injuries prevent training too (but whether that's a valid excuse or not is contingent upon whether the manager is responsible for those injuries or not), and also the toxic pressure of expectations on a club which lacks the spending power and privileges of the clubs it wishes to be on an equal par with.

Tonali at 6 has been a revelation. Absolutely excellent in the last month. Now he looks like the top Italian international and "New Pirlo" (even though he plays in a different way) that we bought. If we can keep this lot fit, get Botman back and maybe even a signing in January then top 4 is absolutely a possibility.

What a hell would you pick Mainoo over Casemiro at a time when u have no wingbacks. U will need a solidified middfield

@ - Dalot is fit. Anthony is fit. Garnacho’s is fit. Hojlund is fit. Bruno is fit. Martinez, Onana, Ugarte are all fit. Cas is fit. Eriksen is fit. The latter two are old and done. Mainoo doesn’t look fit. Seems like more than 1/2 the squad is fit. You can be fit but if you do not have talent and physicality, you can’t survive. Look at all the other teams playing well and ask why? Teams such as NF, BOU, FUL, etc. they do not have superstars or a big payroll. They went out and got athletes.

Amorim's mistake is he is trying to get players to play his system who are completely incapable. You can't make an omelette from minced beef. For the time being, he needs to find the system that works best with these players and once he can bring in new players, THEN he can play his system. Saying that, this lot can't even get the basic's right... They lack instinct for the game that you get from playing the game since a kid. That tells me they are athletic people who have been literally hired as footballers because of the money involved. They can't pass 3 yard balls and they have no instinct for the game. Think about it. They didn't set out to be footballers.

the problem that RA has inherited is players that are used to playing in spells during a match. Like MR drifting in and out. Now they are accountable and need intensity until the final whistle. The only mistake that RA made was going to the wrong Manchester club. Sir JR may be an expert in the petrochemical industry, but not football. Similarly they have an elite cycling manager, again expert in his own field, but football not so much. They appear top heavy with the management. The media are already speculating over the future of RA, which is disgusting, I dont know how he cannot be affected by the constant media nonsense.
