@@patrickcowan8701has absolutely no constitutional significance. Over 6 million signed the petition to overturn Brexit and the Tories didn’t even debate it in parliament. The precedent was set… Besides Starmer inherited a mess bigger than what Thatcher inherited in 1979. He’s dealing with it in much the same way she did, where she dealt with the extreme left, he’s dealing with the extreme right in the same way and Reeves budget is very similar to her first budget, a major raise in taxes to eliminate the never ending deficit in regular spending coupled with additional borrowing for investment in the economy. It’s amazing how far gone the right wing of UK politics is that this is now deemed a far left socialist budget. Her budget was very unpopular but ultimately necessary and she went into win 3 elections in a row.
