days that feel pointless,
And nights that seem unending,
Sunrises that exist to save you from them
And Sunsets to remind us: change, is beautiful
We all have our feats,
So Walk.
Walk on a path guided by your heart,
And steered by your soul
Walk, each step with purpose and the next with conviction,
Show us who you were, are, and will be
Embrace your path, It exists as an autobiography continually written upon,
Your past is not who you are,
But rather, context for who you will be
Your flaws do not make up your being,
But serve as reminders that you are human, broken in a way that is beautiful
leaving no room for normalcy, you are special.
Your circumstances, do not define you
But they will facilitate the story telling what you came from,
And on days when these circumstances serve as blockades,
When your time feels out of reach and beyond your control,
Realize the power in your perspective, the world is yours.
A life lived in another man’s context is not a life worth living,
The world, is yours.
These are words that may have been said to you, but you may not have heard,
So let me reiterate,
The world is yours.
It isn't outside of you, it lies blanketed in your perspectives,
You cannot live another man's life, in the same way you will not last living within the confines another man's reality
Your life will not be defined by those who have not lived it,
So live.
And in the event that you forget how,
Go outside.
Our earth will train you in this art,
Watch the roses, how they grow amongst thorns
They will show you beauty despite your imperfections
Sit under autumn trees,
They will teach you the importance in letting things go

I’ll point this out now because this video is getting a lot bigger than I could’ve ever imagined and i don’t want this to be misconstrued later on. this poem is a completed version of a draft I wrote maybe 4 years ago. there is a line at the end about letting things go and autumn leaves, I was fully inspired by a favourite poem of mine “The Student” by Shane Koyczan where he references avalanches teaching us to let go. when I started writing, I modeled my style after his before developing my own (as all artists do with their “idols”), so in my earlier works you’ll hear the inspiration from his work. my favourite poems by him are The Student and Heaven, Or Whatever for anyone interested in my inspiration for writing

I stumbled upon your channel, and I can't begin to explain how much it has helped me. Being 20 and so unsure about existence and the sadness, beauty, and pure joy woven throughout existing, your words help ground me. I think so much about what the point of it all is and sometimes it's hard to remind myself why I'm here or what I am doing. Theres a quote I love that says "everything was beautiful and nothing hurt". It's sad but the kind of sad that's beautiful. Human existence I feel in tinged with that same beautiful deep sadness. But it's the moments when you feel "everything is beautiful and nothing hurts" that capture what I really means to feel alive, and I want to feel like that more. These poems just really help. I'm sure no one will read this, but on the off chance someone does, look for those moments and hold onto them. And thank you for sharing your art. Its more helpful than you know.

I found a place where I can get a deeper insight of my feelings now. I'm always on the search of the reasons why I'm feelings in this way or that way, but I always ended up dwelling in the past blaming for my shameful mistakes. I understand no one is perfect, but I never get to truly understand my feelings in a way that doesn't hurt myself. It's exquisitely mystifying to think that the past shape the person we become today but don't you think it's contradictory when it also becomes a reason for yourself to look back and contemplate about it, either good or bad memories that there will be days you feel greatly enthralled and days that you just want to shut yourself off from others. Maybe it's just me. Overthinking is one of my habits. It never ceases to exist in my life, a companionship of what's called part of my imaginary life. Sometimes it annoys me, but sometimes it's pleasant. My imaginary life is part of the scope of imagination, reality is not always nice, and so I always imagine to what would have happen if reality had been different. I find it pleasantly thrilling. It's that time again. I talk shit so much that my friend avoids me. But I love your videos Miles Carter. I do, and I never thought that there would be a person who is willing to explore such deep insight of their feelings as I do. Even though people think the more you dig into your feelings the more you waste your time. But your video proves that our feelings are not something that can be discard easily. It's beautiful and human's feelings always harmonize with the beauty of nature. I can't wait to let myself stand in the middle of a field, with the wind blows through my hair, the birds chirping, under that blue sky, the sun that shines through those fluffly clouds up there, it warms my heart whenever I think of it.
