See that's the thing a lot of people don't seem to be recognizing. He's won Worlds 4 times, 3 times 7 years ago and still manages to improve and grow as a player and wins Worlds for the 4th time, with an entirely different roster as well. First and ONLY player to win Worlds 4 times. The only other player who has 3 wins is, you guessed it, Faker's teammate/jungler on SKT T1 - Bengi. There is only 2 other non-SKT players who have won Worlds 2 times - BeryL and Duke and Duke's first Worlds title was in 2016 on, you guessed it, SKT T1 with Faker and his 2nd Worlds trophy was when he played as a sub on IG with TheShy being playing 99% of their games so it's a bit disingenuous. People cannot deny Faker's uniqueness as a player and his resilience and strength and determination to constantly improve and focus on what he needs to do to stay at the top. When there is only ONE other player in League history to win Worlds twice without being on a team with Faker (BeryL - 2020 DAMWON, 2022 DRX) you cannot deny Faker's status as THE Greatest Of All Time. When T1 are dominating League of Legends im just don't like one team dominating everything. I just like to hate to main dogs and would cheer on the underdogs. League had so many metas and changes over the years (champions, items, timers, buffs, maps, towers, gameplays, strats and counter strats, blue side vs red side, rules and qualifications in tournaments, point systems, announcers, casters, coaches, players, etc). I'd say the biggest mistake in his career was letting SKT bench him for easyhoon. He was arguably at the height of his career and they bench him for easyhoon experience... weird time to be a fan and their viewerbase tanked.

It could be argued that that decision is why he's as good as he is today. The main reason Faker started to learn Azir by spamming it in solo queue was because he was pissed that he was getting benched for Easyhoon. It was a good ego check that made him humble and to focus on improving. Now he's known for his Azir and during Worlds 2023, he was the only Azir to win the matchup against Orianna. It isn't even isolated to Azir as he also went on to add control mages in his repertoire

this was thorough but it's hard to follow. The clips are hard to find faker, better if you highlighted him with an arrow or something. it's honestly hard to understand the timeline without an ongoing updating graphic also. for example you're attempting to make the argument that faker is the GOAT, but you don't contrast his accomplishments with the next 5 or 10 -most-accomplished. there's not a timeline graphic that shows accomplishments over time. there's a longggg time covered here, like a decade, and often faker doesn't make finals, fiker sits out with injuries, etc...it's just hard to see what he's achieved without a timeline / graphics showing what's accomplishemtns over time, graphic contrasting him to other players, etc.

He's already very behind. Faker at 19 had 2 World Championships. But I hope he doesn't plateau until he's 25+, and he gets the teammates Faker got. Even then there's still the record Faker has of being the oldest ever player to win Worlds. And that's probably impossible to break.
