When you have to deal with a crappy butt-hole HOA (or neighbors), cameras are a requirement, not an option. You should be discrete about the cameras. That way the butt-holes would keep up their actions and do something really illegal. And you have a super weapon for the court. And messing with a mailbox is a federal crime with a $250,000 fine.

Often times the actions of these HOA's are dictated by just 1 or 2 individuals that think they have more powers than they actually do. If the rest of their 'constituents' knew what they were up to with HOA resources they'd be trouble.

HOA that destroyed mailbox. I'm a bit underwelmed with how this story turned out as destroying a mailbox is actually a federal crime and threatening someone with a gun afterwards would have carried a much longer sentance than 3 year and would have been in a federal penitentiary.

Always report a destroyed mailbox. It's a federal offense to destroy someone's mailbox. 3 years jail time and 250k fine. Per offense.
