One of the great lies HOAs always try to pull: 'Everyone in the area is automatically a part of the homeowners association'. Only problem is that state & federal laws don't allow HOAs to just decide that properties that are clearly outside of their boundaries or were purchased prior to the formation of the HOA are under their control. That is classic HOA overreach, and there are tons of stories out there where HOAs tried to pull that stunt, only to find themselves on the losing side of a very expensive lawsuit.

Why keep giving that entitled neighbor multiple chances to park in your driveway??? If she didn't immediately move it within an hour the first time, just call the police. They will make her move it and it will be documented. Tell her in front of the police that you won't ask her to move her vehicle anymore but will just call a tow truck every time it is parked illegally in your driveway. Either she will get the message or it will get super expensive for her. Either way, she won't be able to say that she didn't know that it wasn't OK to park there and it had been documented by the police so that can be used against her in court if she tried to sue you.

I know the dog mess story, had the same think at a block i lived at. Told the landlord showed them pictures and video , pointed out all the dog mess left around, they said they would deal with it. Supposedly they sent him letter but the guy ignored it after about 6 months of no help and find mess all over the place and throwing it at his door I gave up. Phoned the local Council and spoke with the Local Dog Warden. They said we can get involved if the landlord gives the ok. a month later the warden came to visit and looked the area over, wanted to know the normal times the guy let his dogs out. then planted a few Camera boxes around the area I then found out he got three fines each for £1000 or well over $1000, suddenly he no longer had a dog as he had to re-home it with one of his drinking buddies, He later had to move out as he refused to pay the fines and being taken to court for the un-paid fines violated his lease and he got kicked out..... after that the place was a lot nicer to live at

The police could mever enforce HOA rules unless a crime was committed. Orherwise they would telk the person it is a civil matter for the courts. This srory cannot be real unless something happened like assault and battery, tresspassing, or some kind of crime.

Well there is a simple way to solve the HOA's problem of not liking the view, from the HOA property, remove said properties from the the HOA.
