You know the funniest thing about that HOA vs Farmer story. That farm is without a doubt at minimum double the property value of the neighborhood next to it. Farmland goes for tens of thousands per acre. It's always weird how people look at us farmers and assume we're poor despite, owning hundreds to thousands of acres, farm equipments, and often hiring workers to help. Oh shit that's an old farm. Couple more years and it'll be a Century Farm. It's this little award given out to farmers in America who have had a piece of land in their family for a century we actually have some about to hit that mark too. They give you a little plac and certificate.

Local story has somethiing like that hapening, city couple thinking they've moved to "The perfect house in the country side surrounded by flower fields", and then started calling the police when the farmer was working the fields, after he spread manure and the police basically told them "that's normal in the country side, stop calling us about irrelevant sh*t" they put their house up for sale and moved back to the city.

Been happening to a local racetrack here too. Track has been there for 60 years and the houses around it for maybe 10-20 years and then complain about the noise. If I see someone whine about it I just say "Did they move the track by you or did you move by the track?"

People near wher I grew up moved into expensive houses next to a major interstate, then complained about the noise and forced the state to build huge noise barrier walls to keep traffic noise out of their house. except one guy who complained it spoiled the view and made thm remove a section of the wall right in front of his big picture windows so he could have a noise wall And a view, paid for by the tax payers of the state. but they are the Main Character, so they deserve things to be all about what makes them happy/comfortable. if they want peaceful country living without the hassle of living in the country, by golly, taxes will have to go up to extend city sercies to their new cottage(cottage means huge McMansion with a fake log cabin exterior) and how dare people actually do thing like farm or hunt near their perfect houe in the woods/ beautiful field? the entitlement is real...

I loved those lizards, she dumped me for another dude, so it wasnt a revenge thing, just her being her. Many herp lovers are very close to their reptiles... they bond with owners, and i knew theyd be upset and hateful to anyone that tried to handle em. Im glad i didnt quit though, a year or so later i met my current fiance, about the nicest gal ive ever met, caring, loving, never yells at me for things like "not finding her cell phone she lost fast enough" like the last one did, among other similarly horrible abusive crap bad enough that my therapist gave me the "cycle of abuse" paper they usually give to people who have physical abuse problems from their spouse. @@shereeagosto969 But the story said that the neighbor's camera was able to get good footage of the theft because of the lights he'd installed, meaning the lights would have to have been there prior to the sign theft, not put up as a result of the sign theft. There's nothing wrong with pointing out inconsistencies in a story.

$550 a month for HOA fees? Wtf do they do for $6,600 a year? and from every home in the community? If you join an HOA you deserve everything they cheat you out of unless it's a fee below $200 for mowing, street maintenance and clubhouse cleaning. If there's a pool and you don't have enough space for one of your own I could justify another $100 monthly to help cover a pool guy. With everyone paying $100 that covers a pool guy and chlorine. Too many HOA stories with them stealing funds or attacking neighbors that are not even in their community because they want more money they can steal. You should demand a copy of all financials of the HOA monthly and do your homework to make sure that it's correct. Let everyone know what they did to you and even get together to start your own group with a fee that goes into savings for someone who has a problem for a month and needs help so this doesn't happen again. Also, get yourself on the HOA board, find out about everything and lower the dues!
