Just did this repair on my 2012 E250. Couldn't be easier👍I was originally going to use a 5mm 12v .07amp incandescent off ebay but the 74 worked great. It's a 10th amp or 100mA. Turned the key on and the light comes on for a few then off. Air bag light went away, cleared the codes, all good👍

Thanks for the video! Easy fix and saved me a bundle. Bought the bulb at Autozone, note that you need to pull the wires down from the side of the bulb to solder them in. The bulb is designed to plug into a socket but just lift the wires and fold down. 74 ll was perfect for my 03 f150.

It worked!!! Had those annoying dings because my passenger airbag on/off light was blown. Pulled that dash section off just as you showed and de-soldered the bulb and put the new one in. I needed a 74LL (has the 2 wire prongs). The auto store and the push pull kind. I just bent the wires out and soldered it in and put everything back together. Took less than 20 minutes. Thanks for the video.

Thank you so much! Followed your instructions and worked like a charm. A thing or two: I used the bulb from Radio Shack 272-1141 and it worked great. The yellow sleeve (Jimmy-Hat!) went on easy as pie. I think the bulb you used had a much bigger diameter. However, the 272-1141 had VERY fine copper wires and it was a little tricky to get the wires through the holes in the circuit board. My screws were 5.5 mm. Again, thanks for the video. Worked great!

Dead on again, just replaced all my airbags and all a while back, then went off road a little and there it was this code. Code 27 fixed -ford ranger 2002. Ford asked $240 for the airbag switch box. I bought 2 bulbs for $5.95 from Walmart(long life bulb 74) and went to a mobile repair shop to replace the bulb. Is the airbag light on the dash still flashing as I show at the beginning of vid? Or are you pulling a code from a code reader? Maybe code needs to be cleared if your fix worked and see if it pops a code again. The whole module may need be bad perhaps if that is the case.
@ic3p1k2 жыл бұрын
@@TheRealCobraBurnout the airbag light on the dash doesn’t flash anymore and the bulb on the module is working, but my code reader is still showing B1869 even after clearing. Thanks for the instructional video on doing this. Just fixed my 2000 F-150 with a LFC Code 27 (B1884) using your technique. However, I used a 5mm 9-12 VDC w/ internal resistor orange LED bulb purchased at Amazon [ www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074SJVNC9/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ] . No Radio Shack here. : ( Anyways, no bulb cover is needed and I expect no more trouble since it's an LED. NOTE: The longer leg needs to be placed near the outside of the circuit board with the shorter leg towards the middle. I got this backwards my first time but it's easily remedied.
