It is not a religious celebration mentioned or practiced in the Bible, and not the true birth date of Jesus Christ due to historical context. Wow Loni, I had no idea. I grew JW as well. And now I really get excited for my kids to have that experience. Even though, I did get extremely sad this year decorating the tree. My 8 y.o. was so excited and genuinely happy that I all of a sudden felt sadness for my childhood and never getting that amount of joy. I had to sit with it and understand it then move on to enjoy it with my kids. I live the holidays for them and its such a great feeling.

Brie and Nicole's mom is just being bitter and selfish, she took control of that shower so their father couldn't come. I know he did her wrong, I am not expecting her to forgive but at the very least be civil to this man! I feel bad that these sisters are grown women who constantly feel they have to choose between their parents. One of the reasons Brie let her father back into her life is because her husband lost his father, life is short and she wants that relationship with her dad while he's still here. Kathy needs to let go of the bitterness because it has painted her in the worst light the past two seasons of this show.

Not married... But I lost too much weight last year, and though I looked good by societal conventions but I looked sick. It was scary even for me and have pretty much gained it all back and I feel healthier. Granted I will have to lose some of it again, but I never wanna be skinny again. That's unnecessary pressure to be someone I'm not. I've always been curvy and I'm finally content with it.

Kathy, Bella mother, never told them she didn't want them to have a father-daughter relationship. The mother said she didn't want to hear them talk about their meetings with him all the time when she was present because he was abusive to her and it was triggering. There's a difference. Also, their brother is a maga boy and offensively attacked Nikki over politics. For this, she wanted to avoid having to invite him or family in general. The mother understood.

Ok we’ve had this conversation many a times about whether or not it’s good to lose weight or maintain a certain lifestyle when it comes to the person you’re with... I would say yes! BUT you have to do it for yourself and for your love of them... if you only want to look good and feel good in their eyes only it’s a win lose situation..: cuz they win in the sense that they get to see you look the way the want u to look but yet you may be exhausted and lowkey killing your self trynna be something your not just to keep them happy ! Honestly Mariah’s mindset when it came to doing things differently and making sure she did things differently when it comes to the holidays... I think she learned from those bad times and used it as a way to mold and form them and redeem herself and not only live vicariously through her children but also get to experience the good times and make new memories that overshadow the bad !!! The holidays are supposed to be filled with joy , love and merriness! So don’t let little things or people steal your joy especially during such a season! That mindset I aspire to be... cuz you have to find ways to make a way out of no way or just try to make the best of whatever situation to make the greatest celebration of love and laughter and just family time

Just to preface this: I’m not hating, just offering an opinion. Loni has a really great perspective on this. I DID have really shitty experiences during the holidays as a kid and while I respect other people for establishing their Christmas spirit, I don’t really find a point to revive this holiday in my life. I enjoy my family year round as much as I can, it gets really expensive around this time of year, and it all feels overall really forced TO ME. I see people enjoy this holiday and good for you💙 Invites? Cool. Holiday greetings? Cool. But just because I don’t participate along with you, don’t assume I’m a grinch or haven’t “ taken control of my life now” or “have let the past ruin me.” I’ve really just evaluated it and found that there’s not really a place for it within my life that I want to invest Into.

I'm not against anyone that loves and celebrates Christmas with all the lights and decorations. But for me, having my dad leave 2 weeks before Christmas when i was young. Then at 17 after having Christmas with my family, my boyfriend, brother and a close friend were in a bad car accident caused by a drunk driver, where our friend died, just for going to look at Christmas lights. Then at 25, my boyfriend decided to cheat on me and i found out. I still get together with family, donate and volunteer, but I'm not big into decorating for the Christmas. It doesn't mean that I'm still not over the things that happened, it's just that Christmas isn't the most important thing for me to focus on.
