Not learning to swim on the islands like Garcelle said is like for my relatives from a couple generations in Sweden and also other European countries who were fishermen and sailors didn’t know how to swim!!! I kinda don't like how Loni looked at John Mayer crazy. It's always interesting to know what ppl don't kno how to do and why they didn't learn. We often think laziness or refusal to learn is the reason when really it's their upbringing, which is why I barely judge or side-eye. With John Mayer, he prolly didn't learn because he had others do it for him for so long he got used to it. Some to this day can't drive (Patti Labelle), cook, do math (Rick Ross), etc.

I JUST learned how to cook last year starting in November and I’m 30! My excuse is that my father would always cook and get it to me so I never had to worry about meals but when I recently moved to another state for work I had to think about what to eat for the first time. At first I kept ordering out but then I tried a subscription meal service and now I make all kinds of dishes and show them off to my father. He’s so proud 🥲.

Sometimes that’s just a reflection of privilege nothing bad nothing more just typically middle class--lower class- and black and brown folks do not have the advantage of sitting back and having it done.
