I had a problem paying for a dinner check when I used an American Express card. I knew fully well that I could pay for the bill in cash or use some other debit/credit card. The Amex card denied the bill so after that occurred I denied and stopped using or recommending that card or company again. I don't like being embarrassed for a situation that I did not create. Sadly, there are many companies that often purposely rig a situation that may make you default on payments even when it's not your fault because it's how they do business. Businesses deny credit all the time against each other and the consumer is collateral damage when they play these games.
