Since you’re new to Country, songwriter’s never shy away from putting the life or real experiences in their songs. There’s an old saying that Country music is “3 cords & the Truth”. That is why the music hits the listener in an emotional way. Country tackles difficult subjects no other genre does. To truly understand, please react to: Brad Paisley - This is Country Music

Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn make up this multi-award winning country duo. Ronnie Dunn wrote this song based on his true story about old man Wrigley! So, for a happier upbeat song try their "Boot Scootin Boogie"! Love your channel and reactions, and I love Dunn's voice! 🤠

Every time I hear this song I cry for the young man that lost his mentor. The man who really taught him about faith. But then I smile for the fact that Mr. Wrigley is back with his family. I've only seen one reaction where the reactor was not moved by this song. I prayed for the person to find their faith and God. Great reaction and please know that it's all right to show feelings. That is what makes us human.

I grew up with an older gentleman sitting in the pew behind my family. I would go help him mow when it was his turn to mow the church yard, I knew his grand kids, the oldest who was my age, and he and I would always talk after church. This song always makes me think of him, the day my mom told me he passed was a bit of a gut punch. If you want a lighter side of Brooks and Dunn, check out 'My Maria'

So many people believe that this song is based on Ronnie Dunn's childhood, which it is not. Co-writer Craig Wiseman put it together after speaking to an elderly Black woman. He contacted Dunn to help him with it, and that is how it came to be...all of this is confirmed by Wiseman and Dunn. Absolutely loved your reaction
