You mention the mulch for the last couple of minutes of this video. I was hoping that you might talk more about the mulch machine that you are able to test out. How many hours did you put on it? Have you gone through 600 gallons of diesel! I think Aaron mentioned that the screen says it used 5,600 gallons of fuel so far, and had 163 hours on the machine! Do you have it for 1 week, or longer? Seems like it will use over 1,000 gallons per week in fuel! You did mention the one loader was not working right. To bad they will not drop off a spare unit while they work on yours. Yet that one is so heavy! Special delivery type on a really heavy trailer.

Used, the D6 is going to be about $60,000 to $120,000. New is so much higher. I don't know if I would want to replace it every 4 years to have one under warranty all of the time. The repairs will not cost what is lost when you sell a 4 year old unit and buy a brand new replacement. Besides you know that this unit gets the oil level checked at least twice a week!

Ryan, I have found your channel via Mike (DP - Dirt Perfect) and Chris' (Let'sdig18) KZbin channels and I have been binge watching your videos and especially a number of videos repeatedly, and for good reason! I know you're a super busy guy and I loove the videos! About a month ago you posted a video "IN depth look at compost & mulch production" (kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4bWqGZobdalh9U) and I commented on that I'm trying to do the same as you on a much smaller scale and without an actual and typical landfill. To quickly recap, all of our equipment is compact, and for good reasons. We do a lot of work for farmers clearing fence rows, ditching where materials are allowed to dry and then screened, work for various contrators where space is limited and we process topsoils, clay, asphalt, concrete, and C&D. We (like you) are trying to recycle as much as we can into other usable products, compost, mulch, firewood, wood pellets, aggregates (asphalt & concrete) as well as aggregates screened from topsoils and clays. Again, all of our equipment is compact... 50-90 ton an hour jaw crusher, 3-way screener, trommel screen, portable sawmill, firewood processor, pellet mill, mini excavators, skid steers, dozers, wheel loaders, etc. (40 to about 150 hp). So let me explain what is going on up here in Ohio and you will find this unbelievable in some aspects! But as a result, this is what I'm facing and ready to throw my hands up and throw in the towel! This just happened a few days ago Ryan and what we are dealing with! I will post a link to one of the many articles, but I also combined bits of many over the past 5 yrs so you anad others cah get the jist of everything! March 21, 2024 Cuyahoga County "Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost reaches settlement with Baumann's Recycling Center in Garfield Heights in illegal recycling case" (www.wkyc.com/article/news/local/cuyahoga-county/ohio-attorney-general-dave-yost-settlement-garfield-heights-baumanns-recycling-center/95-414cce9a-d5b6-4e8b-97bb-fed0afb61d4e) Baumann’s Recycling Center Inc. and owner Bill Baumann operates a 40-acre recycling yard in a ravine off of Broadway Avenue, just east of the Garfield Park Reservation. The case against Baumann was sparked in January 2019, when an excavator sitting atop a pile of raw construction and demolition debris caught fire. The blaze ignited when hydraulic fluid leaked onto an exhaust pipe but never spread to the pile, Baumann said. Another fire broke out after Garfield Heights firefighters determined Baumann’s composting and C&D piles posed a fire hazard because of random hot spots caused by decaying debris. In June 2019, the city, county health board and the Ohio EPA enlisted Yost’s office to file a civil action accusing Baumann of running an illegal dumping facility because the debris had piled too high and sat dormant for too long, according to court records. Yost, secured a court order that required Baumann's to begin cleaning up their site on Chaincraft Road. Lawyers in the attorney general’s office requested an injunction later that month out of concerns that another fire could break out, citing temperatures on the composting and C&D piles reached as high as 140 to 165 degrees on some days. The attorney general’s office also argued that firefighters did not have enough space to maneuver around in the event of a massive fire, nor do they have the proper equipment to break apart a smoldering fire deep within recycling piles. Further, State of Ohio attorneys also argued that composting piles and C&D piles could spontaneously combust as a result of piles reaching high tempertures of 140 to 165 degress according to local firefighters. Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, which indicated that the company was not properly recycling construction and demolition debris. The company was allegedly operating an "unlicensed landfill for many years, illegally amassing nearly 200,000 cubic yards of waste and creating environmental and public health hazards that threatened the surrounding communities, while also presenting a massive fire risk of compost piles containing burnable wood as it decomposes and C&D piles with burnable materials." The fires came just more than a year after a massive blaze at the troubled ARCO facility in East Cleveland that cost the state millions to clean up and led to a $30 million judgment against ARCO’s former owner, George Michael Riley. Ohio Attorney General stated in a public news release, that "I am committed to protecting Ohio’s environment from unlawful contamination," Yost said. "As an avid outdoorsman, I find it to be imperative that we leave a limited footprint for future generations."Yost's office says that to date, more than 50,000 cubic yards of decomposing debris have been removed, which is "significant progress that has reduced the imminent fire hazard and safeguarded the neighborhood." Yost's office filed a consent order on Thursday morning in the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. If approved by Judge Kelly Ann Gallagher, the settlement will include the following: * A civil penalty of $1.5 million, with opportunities to have that amount lowered based on compliance milestones - a structured approach that ensures accountability and incentivizes the company to perform a timely cleanup. * Provisions for processing remaining construction and demolition debris, removing legacy material, implementing fire-control measures, and assessing noncompliance penalties." I find it crazy Ryan that these officials are clueless on and about the composting process and the need for piles to get to 140 to 165 degrees in order to kill dangerous bacteria and weed seeds! Local cities, counties, states and the federal government are screaming about the need to recycle as much as possible and especially green waste and then you have a case like this! You have firefighters telling ignorant attorneys that composting piles of green waste, compost and C&D could spontaneously combust with temps reasching 140 to 165 degrees! In short Ryan, I have and continue to work with the count and state, even sent links to your channel and various recycling videos. Some female from the Ohio EPA freaked in her response after seeing that your state allows you do have the landfill, concrete & asphalt recycling, the composting and mulch operation and the massive wood piles... all on one site. Not happening here in Ohio she said! I'm dealing with a small 30 acre site! I have a couple of retention ponds that could be used for fire fighting (dry hydrants) ample space to get around and there is heavy equipment on site to spread out piles to battle a blaze should one occur. But they are concerned that despite that we have dikes and ditches around each area, I'm getting that toxic chemical in asphalt and concrete could leach out and into compost, that consumers may use to grow edible plants in. Um, I showed them a topo of the site and the composting area is on the highest part of the property with the concrete & asphalt recycling on the lowest part and it has it own seperate retaining pond. Hopefully you see why I am watching all of your videos! My gawd Ryan, do we now need to eduate firefighters on composting the need for piles to reach 140 to 165 degrees? I'm so ready to give up and I'm dealing with a bunch of younger ignorant... OMG!!! So, again I'm wondering and asking can you do a video on this??? Thanks in advance if possible!!!
