Glad to see Hedges back! Dr.West is likewise appreciated and what they say (as far as it goes), alas! remains all too true! BUT...( ! ) We're talking UKRAINE here and beyond "Putin BAD !" I hear (as a great man more than once said) "not a mumblin' word" about "Banderite" capture of the "worthy-victim" poster-folk d'jour and U.S. complicity in, if not downright INSTIGATION OF these blood-soaked proceedings! Putin WAS loudly seeking PEACEFUL reconciliation in the face of the NATO/NAZI alliance snubbing him while constant-bombing EAST UKRAINE ( are they not Ukrainians too? ) to the tune of 14-16,000 DEAD ! "Wuzzupwid-DAT" !? THE SILENCE IS DEAFENING!(the proverbial "Elephant"or in this case "Azof-thug" in the room!) Listening to these two ( not undeservedly, mind you ) congratulating each other on being the "prophetic voices of their generation etc." while reciting basically what amounts to a "greatest hits" reel here all about "fearless testimony speaking truth to power" while tacitly endorcing the propaganda "line" of the "home team" with what amounts to "lies of OMISSION" is VERY disappointing and flirts with hero-deflating tone-deaf rhetoric right up there with Chomsky's " Lock "em up and starve 'em !" screed against the "Vaccine Resistors"! (who further developements have proven to be entirely justified in their "Nurenburg Protocol" authorized resistance by the way !) It's disturbing and "bodes no one no good" in a time when the waters are being EXPERTLY muddied daily and crystal CLARITY is what's called for MORE THAN EVER !

The Final Reich. Forget history, religion and embrace the new religion of $illyCon Valley and ∆avo$ Man to one world, where THEY will own, under THEIR rules, and We the People remaining, own nothing, and boredom, drugged and distracted, amused and busied, in a cell by, in a cell by a cell in our head, spaced.

I particularly resonate with Dr. West's words here. The pursuit of a vision of the whole, especially when he so often ties music into almost everything he does. That's the through line for me. It may have been the first experience that I could call truly spiritual in my life. The first revelation. That music ties the soul with the bodily action of the voice and instrumentation that then weaves it's way out into the population. I find myself being partial to the anti-war music of the 60's (Perhaps because my parents were full-on hippie types) but the sounds of groups like: Buffalo Springfield, CCR, CSNY, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, Country Joe Macdonald, and the other "Woodstock" greats that captured those times of both profound love and concern for the average listener coupled with the sense of the injustice of their own country's actions. The sound and feel and memory gets stuck down deep somewhere within your very existence and propels those emotions to the surface to the point where you feel that they want to break out and flow into those around you...even more than a half century later...music as the joining of the soul of humanity to the cosmic vibrations of the universe across both space and time...I really don't know any other way I can describe it...

Those two guys are some of my favorites too, and I agree that the war in Ukraine, as no war anywhere is something else than a crime against humanity, but what I think is inconsistent is that everyone refer to 'not-one-inch' of expansion to the east, in the same time as NATO, didn't dissolve when the Warsaw pact dissolved, and in the same time as NATO, in spite of what Baker with the European leaders didn't keep their promise. It's a fact that NATO expanded into 14 countries thereafter. In the meantime, since 2014 the Ukrainians bombarde people in the Donbas region with approximately 14000 dead people (not to mention them who are injured, both physically and mentally). So, why not talk about this crime? Or is it like the French journalist Anne-Louise Bonnel is saying, that the media in French don't mind if it is not a scope, which a cording to them it is only if the Russian forces attack Ukraine! kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpzFhoZoq7B2f5I And the REAL NEWS network did report from Ukraine long ago about the neo-Nazis' whose ideology is mainly not different from the ideology of the former Nazis in Germany (and the people who committed the atrocities in Ukraine, Babij jar, during the war). Why are so few talking about this, and as I feel neglecting to do it. People just say it's not important and refuses to see how this is connected to other movements in Europe, for instance in the Weimar Republic in Germany, where the Nazis are increasing in force (as in Ukraine). The other day I met a person who said that they have no spare parts to a Fiesta and can't produce them to make new cars. He said it depends on two things, whereof one thing is the lack of some significant metals on the market right now for the production of computer chips', etc., and on the Corvid pandemic. Then I said that I heard that most of the metals needed for computer chips', etc. is from the eastern part of Ukraine. "Yes", "why do you think the Russians are so interested in that part of Europe!", he said. I didn't argue with him, which would have been meaningless. But a relevant question is: "Why is NATO, with Nuland, Hunter Biden et al (with Kolomoisky) so interested in the intern affairs of Ukraine?" I feel it is a crime that everyone let the situation, which now is the actual one, escalate to this point, which it would not have been if people had listened to people like Stephen Cohan, who died before the escalation of the war, but who knew what would happen if NATO continued its intrigues and propaganda and lies, which has brainwashed so many people to act absolutely irresponsible, like the Swedish government who sent weapons to Ukraine (10000 tank missiles), against its principals to not interact with countries in war. I also consider it is in contradiction to being wise, to consider to join NATO, instead of continue to be neutral, a policy that kept us from being in a war for 200 years. To summit the whole situation, it is a really strange world we live in right now! The difference from earlier is that 'we' have nuclear bombs, as the earlier, very wise leader of the former USSR, Mr. Gorbachev consider to be a very, very great threat. I believe him! kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4q5pH6lhr10irs
