Colombia’s 60-year-long armed conflict has produced more than 177,000 civilian deaths, 25,000 disappeared people, and 5.7 million refugees. Multinational corporations operating in Colombia are responsible for 12,000 extra-judicial killings, 3,753 disappearances, and 1 million forced displacements. In the Northeast of the country, the Occidental Petroleum Corporation and its affiliate companies are being investigated for dozens of crimes and the forced displacement of farmers and Indigenous communities. TRNN reports on the ground from “La Osa,” a rural area where 150 displaced families have returned to reclaim their land and to take on the oil companies that are trying to displace them again.

The Real News Network is helping to influence fairness around the world. Had the RNN reporters not been there, I can imagine things would have a different outcome. Respect!! The title and description appear to be about a different story. I would suggest title " Colombian Farmers make steps to reclaim their land from international oil giant"

What do you suppose happened after the guys with the cameras left? Even I could see the cocky smirks on the faces of the young men in uniforms (police?) as they watched and then left. You think Gaza is an isolated story?

I met a "trouble shooter" for Mobil Oil who was involved in this activity. This has been going on for 50 years at least. A British mining company was using mercenaries against US citizens in the U.P. of Michigan to prevent protests against mining. The tactics used in South America are also being used against US citizens. The US needs to stop turning a blind eye to the misconduct of multi-nationals and sign on to the world criminal court.

Why do you think thatd solve the problem?....if what you claim happened Michigan, happened in Michigan, then the world police will do exactly what Michigan police did there, and before too long, they will act as directly and unashamedly as you see here in the video.
